Yes. Isn’t this the one where he talks about the Soundchaser riff, that he used for practicing?

Around the middle he plays a riff later used in Footprints.

This is a fabulous video. The interviewer was the bass player of Elton John. The conversation is very interesting, and Chris is gentle, kind, nice and lovely. What a man he was! I miss him so much!

Yeah really makes one miss Chris, the bass player/ interviewer was good, just let Chris answer. As you say Elton Johns bass player - Robert Birch- who was hit by a car in a freak accident later on, and dealt with the pain from that until he took his own life.

I guess maybe it could have been shot in 1990? It was released in '91. Trevor filmed an episode as well, I believe it was in '93, because it was before The Jacaranda Room was upgraded to record Talk.

This was available on VHS back then, and I almost bought it. It's cool and all, but after seeing it years later on YouTube, I'm glad I didnt!

You're right: 1990. I've found this on the internet:
Buy the official Hal Leonard Instructional/Bass/DVD, 'Chris Squire - Instructional DVD for Bass'

FYI - You can download a copy from Forgotten Yesterdays also. It’s the first listing in The videos section for 1991…..that’s where I got mine while back. Always Had a copy of a copy…etc….from vhs. Wouldn’t mind running into the VHS official for my collection some day…..!

I bet you could find it on eBay, that's where I bought the one with Trevor.

👍👍. Yup! Thx!!! I have seen them there. I’m still waiting to stumble on one at a show or market or old store. 🤞🤞. Eventually, I will give up though🤣 and hit eBay. I didn’t know there was a Trevor. Prob a whole series. Pretty neat stuff. I’m not a musician at all, but I like watching em play around.

Sure was, with some of the biggest names of the era.

Something I found interesting on that ..and confuses me as to when it was .... Chris kind of looks like he did on the Big Generator tour/ videos from that time - at one point during the video - more towards the end (41:35 in the video above) - Rob Birch asks him to play a part of Heart of the Sunrise, Chris responds after playing it "You threw that one at me ya know, I haven't played it for 6 years..."

They played that track during the BG tour, so it definitely wasn't after that. I think the last time they played HOTS before that was 1979 (Tormato and back leg) so could the interview have taken place mid 87 sometime? Or just before the tour (Fall 87), since Rob Birch knew of I'm Running and Squire plays that in the video. Seems to be the new music on his mind (Along with the track "Big Generator" on that Bass with the extra frets).

Mmm, interesting... I think maybe you're right. I've found this pic of Chris with Frampton in 1987, and he looks like in the video.
