Trevor is heavily responsible for 3 great Yes albums, Drama, 90125 and Fly From Here- definitely a legend!

          Welcome!

Opinions vary. I like Horn a lot as producer, but would say for Yes, Eddie Offord was even better. As a singer Horn was oké on Drama, but not very good live (and still isn't IMO). I love Horn's 80s production work with FGTH, Propaganda, Art of Noise, ABC etc. One of the best producers of his time!

Welcome! «Best Yes member ever» is not my opinion (I prefer Jon A. as singer, and my favourite Yes member is Chris – well, Chris is my favourite "everything": bass player, song writer, man...), but I think that Drama is a fantastic album and Trevor made a really good work on it. I prefer Trevor than Jon D.

                He's an arsehole.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

He is a contender. He loves Yes - was a fan before he joined: "Relayer" is his favourite album, Chris Squire is his all-time favourite bassist (and Horn is a brilliant bassist himself) and he is an immense fan of Steve Howe and Alan White, too.

He produced "Drama" himself (the "backing tracks by Eddie Offord" credit was just a contractual thing for royalties - none of Offord's work was used) as well as writing all of the lyrics on the album and much of the music on "Machine Messiah" and "Into the Lens", singing lead and even playing bass on one track! He came back to produce - amazingly- "90125", write some of it, provide backing vocals and keyboards; and then give them a late highlight with "Fly From Here" in both forms.

He invited the band to appear at his Prince's Trust megagig, even though they were the least trendy people on that bill.

He continues to perform two Yes songs live: "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and "I am a Camera" (shorter, original version of "Into the Lens") as well as a song based on Yes music "Close to (the Edit)". He is remains friends with the current band and Trevor Rabin. He has given Rabin, Howe and White high profile studio and live gigs.

He is the most influential figure who has ever been in Yes in terms of his impact on popular culture, is a wonderful interviewee and nursed his wife for years.

Benoit David and aoliver Wakeman are probably not his fans, though, and some of his ZTT artists will have complaints, too.

                            Pretty much this.
I didn't know Offord's work on Drama was not used. Love (the sound of) that album even more!
I love Horn's voice on Drama and Adventures In Modern Recording. Don't like his bass; sounds too much like fretless/rubber which I can't stand.

From Steve's book he only lasted a couple of days; was too out of it to do a good job. Steve actually fired him on the spot when he discovered Eddie frying a pigeon on the stove.
