Unseen footage of The Yes Album line-up playing live in 1971
Unseen footage of The Yes Album line-up playing live in 1971
This just appeared on the YMP Facebook page today, courtesy of Doug Curran (Yes part begins at 2:32)
Possibly THE most interesting Yes footage find in years! Contains excerpts of Yours Is No Disgrace and a different, far heavier arrangement of America than the version on The Word Is Live.
Too cool! The Yes Album era is so magical if you can forgive the lofty adjective. Something about Kaye's gritty organ still being there mixed with a young and hungry Steve Howe coming in and pushing the whole band to new territory. A very welcome addition.
This is brilliant - yes that gritty organ is awesome and the intensity level is really fun to watch. So different from the slightly more mannered playing of even a year or two later. Great find - although the rest of the video is suitably confusing in an early 70 arty kind of way.
Great to see this 70s stuff still leaking out..... even if it is one teasing drip at a time. Gives hope that there is more to be discovered and released!
It's so great to hear the Sketches in the Sun/High guitar parts in '71 (maybe they go back even further, I can't remember). Nice find, thanks for posting.
