I recall getting a VHS of this show in the mid 90s- I gather its a TV broadcast in Chille? As far as I know there are only two shows of the Yes(West) line up the 90125Live- an incomplete video of the show- and this one form Chille- There must have-- or must have been original masters- multi-shoots so it would be great to get a high quality version of this era of the band- TKs keys do sound a little distorted at times - plus its also with Billy in his first stint- albeit in support.

I bought a DVD of this some time ago. It looked 'official' and was in the import bin, but it turned out to be a digital transfer of a home VHS recording of the show.
As far as official releases go I think it may have to do with it initially being a television broadcast in Chile. There are a number of bootlegs of TV appearances from other artists of shows from the same venue/series that are not available as official releases. I'm speculating that possibly said artists can not mitigate the rights for a commercial release.
And on the Yes end of things it might also be reluctance to put any effort into releasing anything Talk related due to the overwhelming amount of bootlegs available from that tour and the fact that this particular show is already obtainable from collectors and can be found all over the internet. Also the current Yes has no members who were involved other that Billy so there is probably very limited interest on their part.Last edited by Yesjim; 08-14-2023, 08:46 AM. -
It’s funny. BG was the first show I saw, and I wasn’t especially impressed (although it spurred me to get into the back catalog). But some of the recorded shows (notably Houston) are really good. Rabin did a nice job of putting his own touches on 70s numbers. My only complaint is the pre-recorded/sampled vocals on some of the newer material.👍 1Comment

I've always thought that it is frankly a bit bizarre that there are not a lot more official releases of complete live tours released. The Word Is Live boxes indicates to me that there are recordings out there that could be licensed for release and yet there remain lots of line ups of the band that remain criminally under represented when it comes to official, properly mixed releases of live material. I'd have thought that there would be enough interest in this material being released to make some money for some people so why not get someone on it???Comment

Currently on Amazon UK.
It's of no interest to me but some of you would like it.1 PhotoSometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.

Remember the Concertsonics feature of the tour? There was a specialized mix broadcast on a limited FM frequency that concert attendees could dial in and listen to during the shows. Ads for the dates actually encouraged fans to bring Walkmans and headphones to the venues. The idea was to enhance the PA audio with background textures that would provide a surround sound type experience.
During the ensuing years dozens (if not more) Talk tour boots became available... the Concertsonics stunt backfired when fans and bootleggers realized they could record the on-air broadcast straight to cassette while they were attending the shows...👍 1Comment

It's possible - much as the agreements made for the Eighty Dates tour - that the promoter owns the rights as regards broadcast, reproduction and sale.Comment

Trevor was on record (at the time) saying that he didn't care about taping, he was glad they could have a good quality boot which is what Concertsonics enabled. And it wasn't a stunt, it was technology that he had a personal interest in developing which is still being utilized today.👍 2Comment

I know may people on this site arent fans of the YesWest era- but I think its under rated and under appreciated- Yes there were some average AOR tracks across the 3 albums, but there are some great as good as 80s prog that you get get- They were very tight live and did a pretty good job- Its a shame we havent got more live from this era!👍 2Comment
