    Now if someone can get him to explain his amplifiers and why the guy just can’t seem to dial up a happening tone anymore.

      I've tried to search for "happening tone", but came up with nothing.
      But if you meant anything but the two basic tones of his Gibson, there's the whole MttS track that has great variations on guitar tone.

          In general, and I think this is what Jay is hinting at, Howe's guitar tone these days is rather clean and dare I say it, thin. And it has been for years now. I do hear some exceptions now on MTTS myself, but I do get the broader picture Jay is painting.

              I would say Howe's present guitar tone compliments Davison's voice and vice-versa.
              Not on Yes' payroll.
