    Tomorrow-Reimagined by Steve Howe

Reimagined releases seem to be all the rage at the moment. April 28 sees the release of Tomorrow's debut album. Overseen by Howe. Usin' today's technologies. As announced by Dan Roth* over on Prog Ears. Question. Why doesn't Dan post here? Or does he under an assumed name?

Anyway our friends, the Gottlieb Brothers, mad for YES and vegan food and animals, have done the design work : Permanent Dream

    * Dan Roth runs a bookshop in NY. Seems very plugged in to all matters Prog. Helped broker peace between Monkman and Downes over TIB. Also hosted Peter Gabriel's book signin'. Recently.

I wish Steve would have a go at re-imagining his solo album Beginnings with Jon A or even Jon D

The TOMORROW album is great as it is...I don't know what there was to reimagine

I wish Steve would have a go at re-imagining the tempos of songs during live shows, as well as his guitar tone....😉

So what is this 're-imagining', is he 'redoing' guitars or something or remastering it using new technology, adding tracks, taking away tracks, remixing it, doing a 'Return Trip' thing to it? I'm curious about this release. It possibly didn't need any tampering, it's a product of its era, a psychedelic late 60's album. I guess I'll find out.

Reforming Bodast might be more like it. That's a pretty happening album, almost punk-ish in spots. He really lays it down on that album.

              I found more info here

              • A fresh new version of Tomorrow’s legendary debut album re-imagined by Steve Howe. • Post-produced using the technology now available on the balance and edits to enhance and re-present what the band were trying to achieve 55 years ago! • Featuring some less well-known studio tracks, a new title, running order and sleeve creating the psychedelic masterpiece they always envisaged.

It seems to be a just remaster of sorts

Ah, ok cool. It’s a great record as-is.

Definite big generator vibes with the cover… I like it, but it’s kind of an odd choice.

I am a fan of Steve’s vocals… but that said, I agree. Hearing one of the Jons on those tracks would be pretty amazing. Lost Symphony with Jon A for instance would be stunning.

Yep. Back in the day of the Gottlieb Bros YES magazine they had an editorial basically pleadin' for the classic YES to get back together and end the Yeswest era. Change We Must was the headline. So.

Strange to see this. Must be a sly dig. Doesn't have 60's vibes. Has Big Gen vibes.

Elsewhere they've said they've used the technology pioneered by The Beatles to allow a remix effect, including here generating a stereo effect from mono tapes.

The final design is definitely not where we thought this would go either. But we're happy with it. Our initial impulse was to go very retro and 60s, but the more we learned, the more it felt like it needed to be vaguely psychedelic, but also sort of modern and high tech. The album has had some very high tech work done on it. Love the BG cover, btw, but it wasn't a conscious choice. We'd done a slew of color options and everyone loved this one. I tend to think of BG as the vinyl version, which is blue and green (like the earth), but had totally forgotten that the CD had electric, 60s psychedelic colors. Eager to hear this. All three remaining musicians were involved in the project. Should be pretty cool.

Madness indeed! Or maybe even one step beyond 😉

Hey, with art, 9 times out of 10 the thing takes a life of it’s own and separates itself from the original intentions. It also reminds me of the kind of pants that were in back then. Vividly colored stripes, and then the cursive text on it gives it that little Victorian nod. It works on a few levels.
