Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Nice. Will consume after enjoyin' some Mike Oldfield. Return to Ommadawn.

OK watchin' now. Steve is very relaxed. Smilin' all the way. Interviewer is very thoughtful. Tells Steve that Bill has never heard TFTO. Hahaha. Big smile from Steve. He even sings a bit of the Rememberin' to make the point that Bill would not have been on board. "Out in the city runnin' free" hahahhaa

Steve has just bought 11 disc Monty Python collection " I know what parody is". When talkin' about Ian Anderson claimin' that TAAB was a parody of serious Prog albums.

CTTE Live will finally end in the right key. Has promised. Very important to him.

Had great ambition. Wanted to join the Stones. The Nice. Tull.

      Wanted Emerson to join YES.

Thought Vangelis was a formidable solo artist. Already.

Zappa and Georgie Fame both admired Steve's work early on.

Great interview. Steve is sharp, funny. Obviously in a good headspace.

Oh. And Steve wants to do TRSOG next year with Relayer. To celebrate 50 years of TFTO. Enough excitement?

the remembering live for the first time since 1974... I think if they dusted that off even Frumious B would buy a ticket!

so there are thoughts on plans for a Tales 50th...

maybe we will get Owner again for 90125's 40th lol

Actually if they were to do one song off of 90125 for it's 40th next year I would prefer City of love or Hold on.

Sorry, not with this line up. The only way I would perhaps want them to do a Yeswest song is if Steve takes over bass duty, much like he did at the RRHOF ceremony, and Billy handles the guitar parts. If not, I rather have them stay away from that material.

                  listen to this

                  2 things
                  1. Howe is playing the rabin lead part perfectly (as you can hear an electric guitar and acoustic guitar playing the leads)
                  2. Howe is singing aklong

he also looked to be having fun with City of love from the fotoage i saw on yesyears

                  as for Ash Armstrong
when did i hire the tone?

*raise. I don't recall when that may have occurred.

Nothing was said about the Quest- I do hope they promote that album as well along side Close to the Edge, Relayer and Tales in the next couple of years. A great interview, lots of info about the recording process of CTTE and relationship with Bill, also his personal influences and early experiences and opportunities.

What a pleasant interview to watch, thank you for sharing this. The numerous references to Bill Bruford and the interviewer's noting that he had interviewed Bill prompted me to look up and watch that interview as well - which I also enjoyed very much. It was interesting that Bill said he had never heard TFTO - but he explains it well. It must be a little tiresome if you are Steve Howe and the interviewer never asks you about your latest recorded work, or if you are Bill Bruford and so many of the questions are about Yes. Bill made it clear that he's been all about jazz for the bulk of his career, but the interviewer didn't seem to want to go down the jazz path. The most interesting parts of these interviews, to me, are the comments about how they approach their playing and composition. As Steve discusses the key changes within CTTE, you can picture the band mapping out the performance.

Very good interview. Next someone needs to interview him and get a track by track explanation of The Quest and how Steve approaches his dual role as guitarist and producer.
