Hoping to see Marie this weekend! 😊🎄. Unrelated but slightly related?!?!? Lol.

Can't say they've ever been on my radar. Both were teenybopper stars when I was a kid. Couldn't tell you a song. But must have talent to survive in the biz for so long. Do I dare to watch a video?

I used to quite like Donny when I was young. A very long time ago. Way before I found Yes. Or any other decent music, for that matter. I think my liking was largely based on it being the only music I ever heard at a friend's house. In my house, there was only big band music, and annoying brass stuff. So it took me a very long time to realise what wonderful stuff there actually is.

Yeah. Check out some Donny and Marie show on YouTube. Oh, the happy happy Osmonds. Yeah yeah I watched it in primetime. Lol. It’s poppy teenybopper as was said. But damn they could sing. And still can

Well I admit a current Donny Osmond Vegas performance video popped up on my video feed last week ( lord knows why) and I watched it. Donny has always been Mr. Entertainment, and still is. Might he be the last? Could be.

Yes, the Donny and Marie Show was pretty big, when the U S. had a smaller population, basically four v.h.f stations, and maybe three or four u.h.f. stations. Certainly a part of Americana back in the day. Probably the only show taped in Utah at that time.

Haha. From Geoff to the Donny and Marie show. A candidate for the oddest tangent award if there was one 😄.

I am a Geoff fan, but his hot take tweets come of as jealous and petty to me. He always has something to say about these super successful pop stars. It’s like he’s trying to get a viral tweet. Anyway, it only ever serves to make me think a little less of him, and it paints a picture of negativity and frustration. Not a good look on anyone in my opinion.

Maybe not snarky but on a recent interview Steve said they never listened to Genesis. Didn't want to know. Wanted to do the opposite.

Steve said Crimson and ELP influenced them more.

Funnily enough Banks never rated Yes or listened to them.

Would love to watch an honest roundtable discussion with Howe, Banks, Geoff, Ian Anderson and Roger Waters and hear their real opinions of eachother. Heeheeeheee....

Geoff comes across as being bitterly envious of Wakeman whose parts he struggles with technically.

I just wish that he had the ability of Rick and the generosity of Francis Monkman.

I have listened to a lot of DBA and have not been impressed. Braide's vocals are average at best.

As a Yes fan for over 50 years, I will not be bullied into "putting a sock in it" by an censorious troll./sock puppet

Now we know the new joint is here to stay. Haha

As for Geoff, I don’t wish his playing was like anyone else’s. I think he’s great as a player, and has a great ear for arranging his parts to fit a track. He can also be flashy when needed. The problem with copying Rick’s stuff does not come down to technical ability. It comes down to Rick’s distinctive personality on his instrument. You can be 10x “better” than Rick and still not play his parts like him.
