If DST really saved energy or whatever I would stop complaining but clearly it doesn't. It's nice having sun in the evening year round especially in the Summer, but in the Winter here it is super dark in the morning during DST so falling back a hour really helps with morning tasks (sunrise is 8:08 here before the switch if we kept year round DST the sun would not rise until after 9 AM in the dark Winter months here which is a real problem).

I have a mild case of SAD https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/con...-sad/overview/ and I hate it when the clocks go back.
Sunset tonight is half four and that is just grim. I'll need to get out while it's still light and stoke up on positive vibes. Luckily I have a few days off work and I'll be making the most of those. When I do go back to work, I'll have to get out in my lunch break or schedule a few site visits to get me out of the of the office. Fortunately, it's only seven weeks till the daylight hours start stretching out again.

Daylight savings time, well I'm used to it but always forget about it. People would tell me "Remember to set your clocks back/forward?" and I would go Oh, that again. Fortunately the computer and a lot of clock automatically set. But I'm ok with not having DST, I think it would be kinda cozy to have dark and the moon still out at 9 in the morning.

I prefer having a bit of light left when I get off work. But I also prefer the school kids early in the morning, waiting for the bus, to be in a safer light.
I wouldn't want to be a farmer; period. Too much damn work.
I have lived and traveled abroad, but in most states here, it is what we do, and the majority of folks are a bit clueless as to why it happens. More states want to opt out.
Right now dawn is 7:14 am, and sunset is 6:04 pm. So we'll be at 6:14 dawn and a 5-ish sunset for awhile. For the last time.

Daylight Saving..
The UK put its clocks back an hour last night, reverting to Greenwich Mean Time from British Summer Time.
Is 'daylight saving' a thing where you are? Is it something you've always known? Do you find it irksome?
Personally, I'm entirely indifferent to the practise here, though it does help now that most of my personal and household chronometers make the change automatically, but I must admit I quite enjoy the ritual of changing the rest by hand. Dark evenings I like too, for there is something of the dark within me and I've always felt a kinship with the night.
Anyway, just to say it's now not the time it was at this time yesterday.Tags: None
