Everyone who was on the old site knows my daughter Crystal is my pride and joy/my only living legacy, and has seen her grow over the years. She is now seven teen, and a wonderful young woman that I am certainly proud of in so many ways. Here she was earlier tonight for her high school homecoming.

What's in the case, Jay? I'm thinking it is a clarinet. I loved playing trumpet and baritone all through school.
I really wanted my daughter to do band, but she decided on choir and show choir for a couple of years.

At least she played soccer for many years, house and travel, high school, and refereeing. End of sophomore year, she was a captain, she ruptured her ACL and tore her miniscus, so she managed the team last year, instead She's in about a dozen clubs, and had a 4.216 gpa going into this year.

You should be grateful for the time you have left with your handsome boy/young man. Tempus fugit! as you well know.

I thought my daughter was a bit expensive before, but she is looking at six years of school to get a Doctorate of Pharmacy. At least she has a plan, and is pretty motivated.

Sucks doing all the right things. People who do the right things, and actually plan what they can actually afford, have the kid, or kids they can actually afford, end up pretty much getting squat. Hopefully there will be some money out there.

It’s a trumpet, Rob. He also plays guitar and bass. He has the most natural affinity for bass above all other instruments, just gets the natural groove.

You’ve got a big rite of passage coming up with Crystal as she embarks on the next phase of her education. All good wishes and blessings, Rob.

I love the bass, too. Perhaps he got it from his father; me. ;-) Just kidding. Jay/ you could have been famous, but I'm happy you stuck with your education. Being a rockstar, is rare as you well lnow

Yes, Bach case, trumpet first came to mind, Jay. Just the way the photo is, and I studied for several minutes, but it just seemed a bit thin to fit the bell of a trumpet. But that was just the musician in me. Of course the man focus was/is your handsome son. :-)

Little known fact. Herb Alpert has used the same trumpet since day one, or almost day one. How about that!

Rob, I’m so glad I didn’t pursue my rock and roll dreams. I scratched the itch and got a taste of it but when I look at the reality of something that I’ve seen up close and personal, whew, it really was dodging a bullet. It can be such a phony and inauthentic world. Not necessarily the music aspect but all the bs that one has to take on around the business aspect of music.

I was always a fan of Herb Alpert. I grew up with parents who played his music frequently. I was a big fan of his album, Rise.
