Mail a letter, Save a shelter animal

The United States Postal Service has issued a new stamp titled: Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet. The 44 cent stamps are photograhps of 10 different shelter animals that found their forever homes.

The purpose of the stamp is to raise the public's awareness of the millions of shelter pets throught the country that need good homes.

Nearly half of all the animals that enter animal shelters are euthanized. Many of these cats and dogs would have made a wonderful pet...if only given the chance.

YOU can make a difference. Adopt a pet, volunteer at a shelter, or just get the word out by buying these stamps.

We donate monthly to our local ASPCA. Good thoughts, Shee.

As it happens I need another roll of stamps and I'll try to find these ones.

If you order them online they will mail them to your home. That's what I did.

Getting the stamps. We volunteer at the no kill shelter most Saturdays. It used to kill me to leave everytime but it's getting better. After several months we are seeing kitties get adopted, so there is hope for those who pass through there. Of course they are always replaced by new ones, but at least there is movement. The ferrel population has exploded around here.

God bless all the doggies and kitties everywhere.
