Re: Benoit David has arrived

you know what?

No?

OK, I'll share then!

Now, recently Jon has been writing some really nice songs - but they weren't really Yes Songs - I liked them, but as Yes songs they didn't cut it for me. As Jon Anderson songs they would have been great.

Now, One of The Conspiracy albums, the Unknown I think - now that Rocked, and deserved to have had the Yes Treatment.

The Steve Howe Remedy Album had some great stuff on it, which again could have done with a Yes tweak here or there to make it a mastework.

So, perhaps we are going to get in the 2010 recording is a piece(s) of music which will be nice and heavy without all of these lighter pieces which really are nice, but seem to have held back the Yes sound which we all really love, right?!!?

Could we get the re-incarnation of Relayer, or Drama, or a mix of the two?

I just think that it will sound like a Yes album, but i'm intrigued to know what it will sound like... if that makes sense.....

eye for one am looking forward to it (pun intended).

BTW i've not seen the new line up live, in person, but i've seen clips on You Tube and I think that Benoit does a great job.

no he's not Jon Anderson - but he does not have to be.

Jon is Jon and always will be.

Benoit is Benoit, and fair play to him.

I loved how he did Asteral Traveller.

Classic!

Re: Benoit David has arrived

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I have been fortunate to see Yes on the Union Tour and the Full Circle Tour before seeing them at Bristol last year.

I have absolutely no problem with Ben doing the lead singing. the harmonies with Chris worked perfectly ... and let's be fair, Chris is half of the vocal sound we know and love.

That said, I do understand that those of you who love Jon as much as I love Chris may be finding this difficult.

Personally I'm looking forward to the next tour with Ben up front .... hopefully after a new album (ooh come on that's what we all want). And, Jon's recent interview really leaves us knowing that's the way forward.

I'm more than happy to keep Ben.

Sorry...but this guy is a clown on stage...bouncing around...it is gross. Sometimes he sings good, other times, it sounds like a high school karoke contest. He makes me wanna puke. Jon is alive and well, his health is back, and his voice is strong.

You may not like Benoit, but you don't have to insult him. Kindly refrain from insults.

Jon's health is not back to pre-2008 levels. He's said so himself.

There are a number of remedies I can recommend to combat feelings of nausea, Buccastem and Pepto-Bismol. However if you want to treat the root cause I would recommend staying off "Yes concerts" until further notice.

Thanks for the update on Jon's health that was really helpfull.

I don't know which show you saw, but when I saw them a couple of months ago - two shows - BD seemed to be off stage more than he was on stage. He left HSWW on stage to jam, and it was very good.

Personally, I really like steak tartare... that's sizzle-free.

Henry

PS: Actually, I prefer the similar Korean dish, yuk whe.

Yuk whe, is that similar in texture and taste to, say, Yoso?
With Steve Howe, Yes is always about the sizzle without the steak.
