I've long wanted to hear a version of SOYCD that wasn't interrupted by other songs. It'd make a great side-long song. I think they played it live that way at one time.

The version on Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd is just that, the two were bridged together with a minute or two in the transition and ending edited out for the sake of making the cut (length-wise).

While it's true that it has taken on the profile of an urban legend. the project is very real (you're just gonna have to trust me on this) and has been delayed by PF's renegotiation with EMI, among other things. But to read actual feedback from someone who's heard the remaster, that's an encouraging sign.
When we do see it, I have no doubt it will be wonderful.
