I hate cancelling or postponing gigs, but at the end of the day the promoter, who afterall is putting up the money for all the costs involved (PA, Venue hire, Insurance etc) dosn't feel confindent that he will recover his costs, and we have to repect that. Having a promoter is a good thing (most of the time anyway), they have a habit of injecting a bit of reality into the procedings, if it was left to us musicians we would play anywere for a bag of chips and a pint and end up skint. Having said that this is just a postponement and we are planning a number of gigs towards the south west. We have already booked the 12 Bar in Swindon for 20th March next year and others will follow around the same time. Tim www.seyes.co.uk |

Re: SeYeS News and Gigs
I am currently involved with a project with the Neil Campbell Collective http://www.neilcampbellcollective.com/ We are performing a composition based on the Mary Shelley novel on the 30th October. The piece will feature sound design, narration and specially developed visuals synchronised with the live music. This world premiere performance in St. George’s Concert Room in Liverpool, will take the audience on a musical journey through the Frankenstein story.
It would be great to see some Yesfans there, I can certainly vouch for the prog rock content so most of you guys I reckon would really enjoy it. Hope to see you there. Chris.

Re: SeYeS News and Gigs
What a fun night! My brother and I were picked up by Tim and his wife Linda for the drive to Morecambe. Took quite a while with the traffic being bad. Arrived around 5pm or so, the guys unloading the van and setting up.
Morecambe was cold and windy. Walked along the front (for about 5 minutes!), saw the statue of Eric Morecambe and headed into The Tivoli for a drink. Met a few local worthies - my brother will talk to ANYONE! Then to another pub for some dinner. Got back just as Parallels was starting. Wow, they sounded good! Setlist was Parallels, HOTS, Gates of Delirium then a 20 min break, then back with The Meeting, Silent Talking, Time & A Word, Long Distance Runaround, Siberian Khatru, And You and I, Close To The Edge, Roundabout and encore of Starship Trooper. Have I missed anything, Chris? The sound at the Platform was very good, and the band were firing! For those going to Cumbernauld tonight - you'll have a fun time. Got home around 2pm - a chilly 3C in Wilmslow .... Thanks guys - it was great to meet you all. |

Re: SeYeS News and Gigs
Glad to hear you had a great time, Anne!
We had a really fantastic night in What's-It-Called?-Cumbernauld. The band really rocked (especially the second half). Just a pity we didn't utilise the rather large dance floor! |

Great to meet up Anne, glad you and your brother could make it. We really enjoyed the gig and appreciate all the support we can get. Not sure about the weather report for Morecambe......it was positively warm and sunny!!

Re: SeYeS News and Gigs
You know I am sure that I had already posted this yesterday, but today it had gone, maybe I dreamt' it who knows? Anyhow
Seyes have a couple of shows lined up for November: 14th November The Soundhouse, Bolton 28th November Huntingdon Hall, Worcester Sandwiched between the two we are off to see YES at the Manchester Apollo, so its three weekends of YES related activities in November. The Soundhouse is a great venue as well as being our main rehersal place, like many venues at the moment that support live music they need all the support they can get so the ticket prices of Ł5 (adv) Ł6 (door) and are pitched to get people in. Lets face it Ł5 for over two hours of quality YES music isn't bad, so come on and get your collective fingers out and get down there. The Huntingdon Hall (Worcester) is actually a de-consicrated chapel in the centre of Worcester, its a wonderful venue, the acoustics and the atmoshere are great and you even get to sit in the original pues. The whole set up is very proffesional. All details on our web site. Tim ![]() www.seyes.co.uk |
