Forgotten Yesterdays has the 1971 show as the band's second headlining US show. They played Oakland the night before.

    The article says

This intimate venue has been selected to celebrate YES's first headline show there in November 1971
so presumably it's to celebrate their first headline show at the Whisky A Go Go?

It hardly seems a particularly significant thing to celebrate if that is the case. Oh, we played here in 1971 a few times and now we're back again.

Where are you seeing this Henry?
FY has Sacramento on 27/6/71 and Whisky A Go Go on 28/6/71.
The Sacramento gig was them as support to Jethro Tull - unless Yes and JT swapped billing?

Just looked again - you are looking at the tour in November, the Fragile Tour.
They played the Whisky earlier that year, in June.

Wakeman talks about the gig in the promo, so we have to be talking about November and the Fragile tour. Those earlier ones Yes weren't headlining.

Jethro Tull weren't at the June gig. There was another band on the bill "Fat Chance", but presumably Yes would have headlined?
    It's only a 400 capacity venue.

Edit to add - one of the reviewers of the 3 November show says this was Rick's first US date.
    So maybe Oakland didn't happen?

Have we found something new to argue about? Fabulous. I'll see them the next night in San Diego at Humphrey's by the Bay.

Regardless of motivations and whether the 'celebration' is completely accurate or not, I do feel it will be an absolute treat for thos attending to be able to see and hear and experience them in such an intimate setting.

Yes, that would be something I can't even imagine how to describe. Even "an absolute treat" has to be an understatement, Arno!

Not sure if this was intended for me, but I'm just looking to nail down which gig it is that ARW are celebrating.
Just trying to establish historical accuracy, is all.
