Probably just forgot to renew the domain name, will likely be back up soon

They’re trying to figure out how to skillfully “edit” their “quintessential and definitive” posturing on the promise of new music and that mythical 100 date tour. Maybe some interviewer will have the stones to ask all of them about their cocksurety.

Yeah Go Daddy has a bad habit of just pulling your domain out from under you without much notice.

I work for a domain registrar and can tell you with certainty that if domains weren't taken down upon their expiration date, then they'd never get renewed or people would never pull the finger out, so to speak. At least the content should all be there when it gets renewed, unless they leave it too long

I am not surprised. Maybe there is a new site coming but really thinking that other then the live album release and the remaining touring left, after that they are done.

Re: YesF webpages gone? Bad news?

Even though they seem to be winding the band down and probably won't been seen in their current format again for at least a year if ever after their current tour, they still do have the live album coming out in September, so one would think they'd at least put up a splash page for that and links to where to buy or legally stream it. That requires a website. Ergo, I expect that something will come back up website wise, even if just something very minimal.

They also have remaining tour dates, right? I'd check the website, but... If they do, and they aren't sold out, one would think they'd want to leave those up with click-through sales links.

Even long-term, I would imagine it'd forward to Jon Anderson's page page, or be a list of three links to the performers' independent sites. These guys have other projects that they would want to promote to random people clicking on their old website.

When you get down to something very basic that may not get much traffic in the long-run, it just isn't that expensive to have a website these days, not on the financial scales bands operate on. If ARW lets it go, Yes official should buy it and put a basic redirect in place so it forwards to Yes World. :)

I think ARW is just disorganized and didn't realize their domain name was expiring or something. I'm sure people are busy telling them about it right now and they'll sort it out. Usually, domain registrars will actually retain a name after it expires and try to sell it back to the original owner at an increased price or hold an auction before letting it go completely for anyone to buy these days.

Also, though their site had some claims about a studio album and stuff that were not accurate, they wouldn't have to take the whole site down indefinitely to fix those. You redesign it off-line and then swap the one version for the other with only seconds of downtime (And maybe some people still getting the old site as the new design propagates). It's not like a message forum where one would take the site down when doing forum maintenance because you don't want people posting in between the snapshot you take off-line to work with and when you put it back up (Posts in between would disappear).

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. He kept telling me, ‘No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that’s something you want to do.’ And I have to keep making music. It’s just what I do. I’m a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood (Quote edited to fit under character limit for sig files)

They have like 10 dates left. That is not a tour, that seems to be honoring a commitment made already when all the other dates that popped up for a short bit were not.

The revamp of the old site is the new site.

    Are you interviewing them?

Yup, they’re still advertising that “100 date world tour” and promising that they are “hard at work on some stellar new recordings”. Maybe they’ve hired Bill Clinton to help them expound on what they really mean with their verbiage. “Well, technically we are making new music, just not with one another.”

The way Jon and TR have talked of late, it would seem a smaller tour would be likely which makes more sense.
