    Stephen Hawking, R.I.P.

Was it sun through the haze,
    That made all your looks,
    As warm as moonlight?

It drives me nuts when people online don't know the difference between "your" and "you're".

Glad he had as long as he did, given his condition. He genuinely made the world a better place. Sorry that he had to pass in such an unbelievably stupid era of human history.

And on Pi Day too. A bit of a hero of mine. I saw him in Cambridge in the 90s, and he came to give a lecture at Leicester Uni a few years go, but getting tickets was near impossible.
Presumably they tried turning him off and on again.....?

Well here is a soul whose ideas will become somewhat immortal.

Is the Ape that dominates the zoo capable of managing the technology they have so painstakingly created for their dominance? He would argue and still continue to argue, that we show day in and day out that we are not. History would also show that these times historically are no dumber, smarter or special than any other period except for our penchant to waste vital resources and allow a large number of creatures to either live in squalor or contemplate extinction. We are so obsessed with property that we have patented the "intellectual" property of things like seed biology to grow crops from infertile laboratory seed or to hail a freakin cab via phone hitchhiking and in so doing try to avoid liabilty for things like public safety.

In the future, that happens to be now, responses to important questions will kick off with disclaimers like: "I'm sorry that information is only available after making a formal request to our patent legal team".

    Re: Stephen Hawking, R.I.P.

A brilliant man who increased our knowledge of the cosmos while bravely battling an awful disease for decades, he was truly inspiring. I'm reminded of a phrase from Arthur C. Clarke (another brilliant person who suffered from a disability), "free at last from the tyranny of matter." Hawking is now free at last from the tyranny of matter, and my prayer for him is that he now has all the answers that eluded him in this fragile life.

    R I P... onward....

I somehow feel he is still here... yet billions of miles away, smiling in a universe that smells like roses... and freshly baked bread

drifting gently past the speed of light... swimming in a sea of memories and looking forward, seeing what created the universe, and wondering what created the creation.

    still undefined
