I've been waiting for over 5 minutes for somebody to create this thread and it hasn't happened. So here goes.

Re: Don't Take No for an Answer

Maybe the song is about when someone tells the band they don't want to carry on and the band should stop. Or maybe it is an extension of "don't take love, for granted"...? I'm ready for some un-autotuned bassy Howe lead vocals.

Seriously, excited to hear the new song and mixs. Plus all the guys overdubbed and did some sweetening! Exciting times for panthers...

I’m going to phrase my response in the form of a question, Jeopardy style.

What did Steve Howe’s manager tell him before Steve presented this song to Trevor Horn for submission in the final mix of Fly From Here?

I think the song is written about what Downes told Horn, when he asked him to ask Squire if he could be back in the band in favour of Oliver....

It is a cover song. It sounds Drama-esque until the vocals kick in.

There's not enough time and the songs are already selected.

    Or

You already have 1 lead vocal on the album, don't push your luck...

Seriously, the title of the song has me puzzled to what the music and feel of the song might be like... Will it have that Howe style that songs like Countryside, Abilene, Hour of Need, and It Was All We Knew? Or a total different beast...? The title has me puzzled.

Horn will treat Steve's voice kindly like on Hour of Need regardless. Not to mention some Benoit, Horn, and hopefully Squire in there too on the backing voices...

"Hour of Need"/"It was All We Knew" seems a reasonable starting point.

I like both those songs, but lots of fans don't.

I’m rooting for something that has the Pennants vibe.

This will never compete with the "delete" threads. Those contain that X factor that can't be explained. Let's face it, human beings are a weird group of people.

The Delete tread grew from the seedling of nothingness, which is how a lot of great Yestreads start.
