The unreleased track is from 2011 according to Henry

Here we go our first big bit of news for Ffh the return trip

Convention promo described, "the Drama lineup version of Fly From Here – new lead vocals by Trevor Horn, and remixed by Horn, including an unreleased track. Limited numbers will be available to purchase". The unreleased track is from the 2011 sessions for Fly from Here.

    Thoughts?

Considering the album was released in 2011, it would make sense unreleased music would be from the same time frame.

Yup....since all music used for FFH was from 2011 and nothing from before..........

The album Fly From Here was, indeed, released in 2011, so he is quite correct about the time-frame. The 'fact' that the album was cobbled together from leftovers and side-salads stretching back to the early 80s, and is now being acknowledged as a Trevor Horn vanity project to start with, albeit tacitly, only serves to reinforce its tepidity.

What Yes studio album that has been re-released with bonus tracks hasn’t had the bonus material recorded +/- 2 years or so from the original material?

'Shining wit' is a Spoonerism. I only need half my wits to do this, if that much, to reach the necessary level of communication here most of the time.

I'd guess Horn, but I don't know. Looks like Downes has done fresh keyboards for it (so have any of the others touched it?).

We knew several songs from the 2010-1 sessions weren't used, including material related to "The Game" and "In a World of Our Own", and including ideas with Oliver Wakeman, but I don't think we have an exhaustive list of unused song titles.

This is the closest thing we're going to get to a new a Yes song with Chris on it, unless something from the Heaven & Earth sessions or later gets used on a new album...

I think it will be Oliver's and Chris's early/original version of the Game finished by Trevor and YES.

Very, very different to "The Game", AIUI. Not so much a different version as a different song that uses a common element. Would be lovely to hear.

Not really the "original version" as it dates back to a Chris Squire/Gerard Johnson demo for the aborted post-Syn Squire solo album, that mostly ended up as Squackett.

Really looking forward to whatever it turn out to be! So Geoff just did some new keys...? If Horn thinks it is good enough to sing to or release it must be pretty good.

That post-Syn solo album is interesting. I believe Paul Stacey was involved/producer/guitars? Wonder if there is any of that that could be finished or tidied up. Really hope Yes uses at least 1 Squire bass (vocal?) part from the H&E leftovers or the Arizona sessions/demos.

Why does no one thing the unreleased track will be Go Through This? Even if they didn't re-record it in 2011, Horn only has to sing on top of the 1980 Townhouse instrumental included on the Rhino reissue. The multitracks even exist. Then again, Geoff Downes did say in 1998 that he had found various recordings of Go Through This so it's safe to say that if he was involved so was Horn singing.

Because it doesn't fit the criteria of what it could be, right? You just said so yourself.

Well it could be that if they also re-recorded Go Through This in the 2011 sessions.

I like FFH and would like to hear the unreleased track, but the rest doesn't really interest me. I wouldn't buy this, but I will listen to it if it becomes available in spotify at some point.
