Recent(ish) interview with Steve about Tomorrow-era stuff

I'm currently in the process of reviewing a book for the Pink Floyd fansite I'm affiliated with, it's called Reinventing Pink Floyd - the author chronicles the pre-Dark Side years but specifically focusing on what happened with the band between Syd leaving and the success of DSotM. More from a musical perspective than a historical one, however. He interviewed a few people associated with that period and one of them was Steve, as Tomorrow had the same booking agent and played gigs with PF on many occasions. Steve almost filled in for Syd one night, which I had no idea about and I consider myself fairly well-versed in Floydian history. I imagine it is a previously-known thing, though.

The book is well-written, I give it a thumbs-up for whomever is interested in those kinds of books. It is going to be published in February.

Here's a link to the interview, there is also one with Davy O'List of The Nice who actually did fill in for Syd one night.

Thanks for that. I was aware of the bare fact that Steve almost depped with the Floyd but never knew any detail. Both are interesting interviews.

Cool to read about this period from Steve (and Davy). I love that Tomorrow album and the great b-side Claramount Lake.
Next month will mark 50 years for the album release. The mono splatter vinyl from a couple years ago is very well done. Recommended.

Thanks for the heads up on this book.

Right - there are two books already out which basically do the same thing: go through the entire discography and discuss each track, and that is one of them. There's another book coming out later this year which is going to be the same thing for all the albums. The release of The Early Years boxset is what inspired all these books, I think, now that the PF discography is as complete as it ever will be.
