Should Tony kaye have any say in terms of Setlist?

Also if they do an album should he be apart of the writing?

As he is coming aboard as a concert guest on a (likely) limited number of songs, it would be nice if he had a say as to his favorites (or at least ones he would really like to play after all this time) ... I don't think his involvement will extend beyond the tour so I doubt writing will be an issue.

He is a guest on crusie to the Edge at the moment
He has not joined the band
Sure he could have a say on the setlist for the cruise

    Surely, yes.

He's been invited to join them for the tour, I'm sure they'll ask him if there's any songs he'd like included.

Quite possibly some of the songs were discussed before he agreed.

Naturally, he will but if YES ask him to join the board it's only to natural to let him play the tunes he's comfortable with. They won't ask him to play Gates of Delirium.

Something with some uncomplicated blocky chords, no arpeggios, bit of piano, no solos.

Do you mean something he can play with one hand?
I've always thought that was unfair.
I saw Tony with Yoso, he was great.
I'm really looking forward to seeing him again.

Re: Should Tony kaye have any say in terms of Setlist?

So I'd expect that both Tony and the band are thinking about including some tracks from albums that Tony actually played on.

That would be the first three albums, the 3 YesWest albums, and the three or four or five YesWest tracks associated with Union.

Also, when Tony played with YesWest, they covered additional songs from the albums with Wakeman, from 1971-1978. I don't recall offhand if YesWest played any Drama or Relayer, but I doubt that Jon would have allowed any Drama (although Squire and White played some of it as a solo spot called Whitefish), and the Relayer is pretty damned hard (although Jon sang an acoustic version of Soon).

Indeed. I've never been overly unpressed with Tony within Yes but he surprised the hell out of me with Yoso !

let us not forget where he stands and his original place in the history of YES! Out of all the members of Yes that exist, Tony Kaye is one of the builders of the original foundation that still holds the weight of Yes and all it's history, if anything, Tony should play a large roll in the next chapter of Yes.... letting him take the helm of the ship for a while could lead to new discoveries in the misty waters of the topographic ocean, and his ability to work very well with Billy Sherwood is a known fact and there ability to create brilliant music is obvious.

From working with Peter Banks all the way through 90125 and endless dreams, his roll during the Union tour added such rich textures to the live shows... Blistering Hammond solos within the Circa and Yoso shows, he is worthy of doing anything he wants when it come to being a part of YES! He is Tony Kaye!

    still undefined

I'm seriously hoping they do a decent slab of post-1983 material and that the UK dates are not just 2.5TFTO+GreatestHits68-80

I hope he does. I also hope he rejoins Yes full-time. They can easily use 2 keyboardists. I also hope they include some YesWest stuff--with Tony on board, doing stuff from Big Generator in particular would become a lot more credible.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high, because that (2,5 TFTO + a selection, mostly drawn from this year's Yestival setlist) is exactly what Steve said in an interview.

With both Geoff and Tony, the band could finally do a decent version of Cans and Brahms.
