Yeah, why can't we just get along...

Nothing is misguided to it's creators, only the recipients who didn't want the expectation ruined for them.

Now I miss Camphy. Coincidentally, talk about being offended.

We all make choices in life..and one of those choices is to be offended.

War is offensive. Words are only words and only have the power we give them. People who are comfortable in their own skin generally don't give a rats ass what anybody says about them. People who hate prog find Yes offensive and would rather shove knitting needles in their ears than be forced to listen to them.

    Who cares?

Most of the best comedy is offensive to some. Blazing Saddles was offensive...but funny as hell.

Life's too short to be a perpetual victim.
    Wow. So true.
So many great points we could learn from in this thread.
Kids are killing themselves over posts on face book for crying out loud..its insane. Didn't our parents teach us that sticks and stones can break your bones but words can never hurt you!?
Just move on from stupid words that people say and don't give them credence.

I agree with part of this.. don't call names or b mean..its so clear when someone does this! Its low and unnecessary and hurtful.
Conversely, calling the guy who says thise things a fat ---- is equally egregious. I suggest you ignore comments like that or constructively react to them with compassion for a mean spirited soul.

Sooner or later, everyone will be offended by something. Thicker skin is called for.

I agree. But it us also the intention of the mod team to curtail bullying. Anyone who knows me knows I love a good argument and debate! I don't care if you feel differently than do, but if I say that Geoff is better than Rick.. don't call me a stupid moron!!! Lol. Express how Rick technically exceeds Geoff for one example.
The thing that has baffled me for years here on Yesfans is that I would think most people are very intelligent here and would have a great ability to debate and disagree with great finesse and by example and genuine desire for the conversation.. reacting by calling names, mean spirited comments and direct disdain is , imho, the sign of lack of intelligence and lack of substantial argument.

Those people often forget that for something to be funny it takes more than just them by themselves who think so......
ReAwaken (after the Bethlehem Sands concert 2016):
Sometimes in music, the songs can transcend the band members themselves - I think Yes is such a band.

It's not that black and white, certainly not with teenage kids which is a vulnerable age with lots of insecurities already. Sure when you're told you are 'not worthy' once or twice, but when it's repeated to you by a group of people day after say, week after week, month after month......you can be sure that those words will leave a deep and profound impact on someone's mental state and self esteem.
