So Mrs Anderson's cancer and Wakeman's solo commitments are causing the demise of YfARW?

The shows that I saw worked brilliantly. I'll take Anderson over a geeky imitator from a tribute band every time.

I saw them too , Good , but they are not YES , they are a different band as as Wakeman says in another thread , they shoudl not be called YES
YES are touring at the moment , they are the official time line
Are you going to see them ?
    I am

No. White is hardly playing at all. I don't want to see a band with only one of the classic line-up or RRHOF inductees.

YfARW, by contrast, have three inductees including the singer that recorded all the songs that Davison is singing this week.

Forget the legal stuff, in reality YfARW is now the real Yes. On this tour, Yes Official is, in effect, Steve Howe's 1970s tribute band.

Many people say it, so is the real YESo only because of the lineage slant? If so that is is nice but you have 3 guys in another band that were HUGE, VERY HUGE in the YES tree and can claim some of the same things without having the lineage part of it. Does the orig lead singer, part of the major sound trump some of the lineage claim? Then throw in one of the better Keys players in prog rock that just happen to be in YES at keys point sin there career, then thrown in rather you like it or not the guitar player that carried the new sound of YES for 15 years (Remember Steve Howe was playing the same type of sound/music in ASIA).
"YES" - Music that could make God cry with joy. Either you get it or you don't.

    Absolutely.
I don't really see why everybody can't be Yes...

I'd be more comfortable if Howe was in ARW instead of Rabin
But the reality is Squire asked YES official to carry one before he passed that carries most weight IMO
He did not ask Rabin to form an alternatuive band after his film scores were done
He did not ask Andersonand wakeman to form an alternatuive band when he was ill

True but CS asked Trevor to come back to YES MANY times post TALK. THAT says a lot!

Yes. The lineage, with Squire gone, must be based on Anderson. His unique voice and delivery defines the Yes sound.

Then there is the way that Anderson leads the band on stage. To be honest, I'd rather see and hear him with Todmobile than Horn, David or Davison with Yes. His performance in Iceland was out of this world.

Most of the tracks on Drama and FFH were re-arranged Buggles songs. I didn't buy those albums nor Heaven & Earth and don't want to see them in any live set. I have listened to them online and they do absolutely nothing for me.

I could understand HSW touring without Anderson when he was ill. However, now that he's healthy and able to tour again, Anderson remains the authentic and only true voice of Yes. That's bad news for Yes Official and the Anderson haters but great for the vast majority of Yes fans.

    Yep.

But, you know, it's really a unique situation.

ARW has three of the biggest names in Yes: Anderson, Wakeman, and Rabin.

And Yes used to have four - it had Howe, and still does
It had Anderson (who didn't want to sing with them, neither in the studio or inconcert, and then when he acquiesced, became too sick to tour.
It had Squire, until he had the unmitigated gall to pass away.
And it has White, sometimes, who had become too ill to play, but I think he's better now?

Both are Yesses, but one has the lineage and legal right to call themselves Yes.

But real fans know who's who, and know the difference, or lack of.

Well, with Horn joining for a show or three, is current lineage Yes more like a Buggles tribute?

Sadly, White can't be better if he could only play the end of Ritual, Roundabout and Starship Trooper last night. If that's his limit for now and the future, it's tragedy from him and the fans.

Alan comes across a really great guy. IIRC, he has said that he's still on good terms with ARW. I'd hoped that Alan could have been a peacemaker for a 50th Anniversary Union2 Tour. Obviously, barring a miracle, that's not going to happen.

There was this photo, the only one I recall where any one from YesF got within three feet of anyone from YesO. They usually had to put Bill in the middle.

I love how there's so many ratios in that photo:
    -2/5th of YesWest
    -2/3rds of Rush
-half of the drummers who have played in Yes.

I agree I think Alan gets along with the ARW guys He is just freaking cool. He just chose to stay the path he has been on. Not a damn thing wrong with that.
