I was thinking the same thing Cindy. Hope everyone stays safe!
(I hit the grocery store earlier so I've got my supplies. Just wish I had a generator.)

For ALL of my yesfriends in this storm's path...PLEASE KEEP IN TUNE WITH THE WARNINGS
AND PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
I have to go to work today from 9-2. Luckily it isn't going to get bad here until about 6PM. I called the store last night and they said they were going to be open and if I can, I should come to work. (You'd think I was a freakin' ER doctor.) But I missed a day last week because I was sick, so I'm working today because I need the money. Tomorrow is another thing. I'm not going in tomorrow. They'll have to come and get me and take me home.
Just been watching about it on the BBC news.
Thinking of you folks - keep us updated.

Yep. My employer has decided to be proactive and shut down all the really expensive equipment that could be damaged by a power outage. I normally work 1-9 pm and everything that I'd need to do my job will be powered down. The official word from my boss is that I should "work from home." There's not much software I can test from here, since the software I test runs the equipment at the lab and I didn't bring home the laptop with the simulators on it. Smells like a day off to me....and there's no snow to shovel. I'm good with that.
The only downfall is that yesterday I baked a boatload of pumpkin whoopie pies for my coworkers and I was going to bring them in. Now I have to resist the urge to eat whoopie pies.

Finally heard from lil' sis. They're about 100 miles inland, Maryland. Anyhow looks like this thing will roll right over them.
She assured me they've got plenty of provisions (husband was at beer store as she typed LOL). Lots of firewood and food, and ice.
Candles, batteries, etc.
And they're sleeping on first floor for fear of downed twees.
Schools prob out all week.
Hold on to the miracle of life...
Pretty scary stuff, even for those inland.
Wall Street has suspended trading for the day.
The NYC subways are closed because they have to pull the cars out from underground so the electric stuff in them doesn't get fried from flooding.
I know that flooding is going to be a huge issue, not to mention there probably won't be power in some areas for days.

Must be bad if Wall Street isn't trading
Don't know why it's all over our news channel like a frikkin rash.
Maybe there's no institutional paedophilia to report on today.
They just announced that the MBTA is shutting down in Boston....trains, buses, and subway.
