They did not come near me and unlike past tours this time around I am no longer willing to drive 8 hours each way anymore.

The webpage has been updated, it's now only a signup page for a mailing list.

And on signing up you get this email:

We are very excited about our upcoming cruise "On-Sale" announcement, scheduled to happen just before the end of July! As promised, you will be the first to know all the details prior to the public on sale of tickets for the Cruise to the Edge. Here are a couple of hints on what to expect:

Scheduled for March 25-20, 2013 on a luxury cruise ship.

Sailing to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

Non-stop music, activities, events, Q & A sessions and more fun than you can imagine, mingling with the bands, other fans and guest artists to be announced!
Wish we could tell you more, but we have to keep it "hush-hush" until we finally reveal the details to you and the select group that have joined our mailing list. We guarantee it will be worth the wait!!

    Thanks for your interest,

The Cruise to the Edge Team

PS...we will be sending updates as they happen... stay tuned!

    I suspect July is incorrect.

Moody Blues was listed on the same week. Has that changed?

Re: Cruise to the Edge with YES

The moody Blues are the week before. As a post above said, the MB site is http://moodiescruise.com/ and that has 20-25 March.

The Yes cruise website was just a copy and paste job with the dates updated but the rest the same. Very poor.

Ahh, I see the MB page. Much better looking now. In the WHAT'S INCLUDED section for them it lists some very cool stuff that will be taking place. I hope YES does all that.

I'll have to look into this for sure. It's only money and you certainly can't take it with you and while I'm not a big fan of cruises, THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE A LOT OF FUN!! Best part would be hanging out with some of my friends here and seeing our favorite band and side trips. I thought this would be a cool thing to do years back. Hopefully I will be there with a few others from this site.

Rick will not be attending and Geoff has prior plans. They've called in "the Captain" to handle keyboard duties for this cruise.

it would be fun to think some of the ex yes members having a huge jam at the outside stage by the pool...

pumping out a half hour jam of "release release" with Tony Kaye rolling out a Hammond B3 at the end sending yesfans into a frenzy

I'm not, really. I can't even afford to see them in concert, let alone go on a concert cruise. But I can see the appeal for folks who can afford it- especially if Yes is going to play three nights in a row and pull out some stuff they haven't played in a long time or something. For me, it's just something to talk about, though.

Yes i read that classic Yes fans will get upper deck cabins with balcony's and Yes west fans will have bunk bed cabins by the boiler room.

It smells like 'money grab' to me and that is fine in that I realize that Yes is not just a band, but a business as well and they have to do 'money grab' stuff like this in order for the business to survive, but it doesn't seem of interest to die hard fans like on these boards. More then likely it will be a 'greatest hits' show and they will put Owner out of last tour's retirement to join hands with Roundabout, ISAGP, Starship Trooper, YIND, TF, AYAI and HoTSR. Throw in Steve's solo and there you pretty much have the show I recon. I wouldn't expect a full show either, probably something like 1 1/2 hrs. maximum.
Arno, I think you're getting the wrong idea here. The Yes show is not simply part of "the entertainment"; the cruise is centered on Yes. It's more like a Yes festival that happens to be on a boat in the Caribbean. Imagine a long-weekend festival in a dedicated area, like a field or a large hotel or a conference centre with rooms, restaurants, pool etc., only instead of it being Comicon, or an IT trade show, or Rio carnival or the Oktoberfst, it's a Yesfest. Now, wouldn't that be interesting? You get to hear Yes play at least two or three times, you get a chance to meet the band, join in a Q&A, and so on. And then there are other bands, who "fit the bill" playing at other times during the festival, and you also get to spend time here and there sampling the local culture. NOw imagine all that happening on a cruise liner in the Caribbean, with the local culture stops being Grand Cayman and Jamaica.

Certainly money is central for the band, and it is expensive and out of most people's reach. But it's certainly not simply a cruise with Yes on the side.

Maybe yes wants some time in a state room to write some new material. Doing double duty. Write new songs and play the old ones and make a bundle. Sounds good to me.

..and how likely is it that they will pull out stuff they haven't played in a long time on a cruise, where probably the majority of people comingt along aren't especially Yes fans, but are there for the cruise and take the 'famous band' as an extra??
