Rick isn't really interested.

Nope....I bet not. They're working on making a solid lineup and they have it now. Geoff is core and dependable. He's bona-fide.
I think they probably would, if available and willing to tour im pretty sure he's always their 1st choice. He is iconic and a sizeable draw (he's the only Yesman most of my friends can name) that being said i don't see it happening, he's very reluctant and there is probably some bad blood there now.
at this point I find that J Downs is a more creative keyboardist..
for Yes Downs has more to offer- I have seen to many yes concerts where Wakeman looks like he can't wait till the show's over look on his face, I love downs stage presence now- it's wonderful.
At some point in Wakemans life he will look back and realize that playing all four sides of Topographic oceans was one of the most interesting and creative things he has ever done..
and he will miss it..
and long for it once again..
I promise you- I feel it my yes music soaked soul.
still undefined
I hope not.
Rick is and has been reluctant to go into the studio these days particularly for Yes. Last album(s) he was on was the Keys albums, before that partially on Union (part of it was his own fault because he didn't get off his couch), and before that Tormato. So if hell freezes over and Yes got him back for a tour good chance he'd leave before Yes went into a studio.
So musically and professionally Geoff is a more reliable keyboardist than Rick.
Isn't funny how along with Igor, Geoff is the one Yesman whose name is so often misspelled? =P

I was wondering whether Geoff got to speak with Rick at the Progressive Music Awards this week. Rick received the Prog God award. Geoff was sat between Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer (virtuosos award). Geoff posted a pic of himself with Emerson, Tony Banks and Fish - http://pics.lockerz.com/s/241742327. Note the description - "And the top 4 keyboard players in the world are::::: (substitute Fish for Wakeman!!!) Banks, Emerson, Downes, Wakeman". I hope that Rick did not turn the opportunity to be in that pic.
I would think not. With this current line-up, it seems Geoff is much better suited than Rick would be.
Now, if Jon Anderson were to come back (and i doubt he would, unless it's something monumental) then i believe Rick would consider it.

Rick would only come back with Jon Anderson on his terms, i.e. short tours. There could two versions of Yes - the classic line-up for short tours in big venues and the current line-up for longer tours. There are lots of factors - health, money and personal relationships - that would need to be dealt with. One issue is insurance - could the promoters afford the premia for a "classic" line-up tour?
the real question is who would win in a keytar match Downes or Wakeman?
The Current lineup is Chris Squire Alan White Geoff Downes Steve Howe and Jon Davison and according to Geoff Downes who told me personally they WILL RELEASE A NEW ALBUM NEXT SPRING. END OF DISCUSSION

Considering Rick's yo-yo relationship with the band, and his blunt negativity about the current way things are, I highly doubt they would just 'fire' Geoff, because if they did it is likely Steve would go too. They just made, like it or not, their best selling album in nearly 20 years.
