    Half time... Everton 2 - Liverpool 2

A great opening twenty minutes for us, after that we've barely had a kick of the ball. Hard to believe that, after being 2-0 up, I'd be praying for the half time whistle!

Oh and that's one Suarez dive the opposing manager can have no complaints about - as the comentator said, Moyes just had to take that one on the chin!

Edit... full time 2-2. Shocking - and very late - decision by the linesman to rule out Suarez's goal at the death. Clearly onside.

    Shocking decision by the linesman.

I think Gary Neville got it absolutely right. He bottled it.

Yep. If the Everton defender hadn't have waved his hand (in what was surely desperation), the linesman would never have given it.

Correct me if I'm wrong (it does happen occasionally), but I didn't think it was going to be used for this sort of thing?

You are correct, which is why when they said they were going to install it for goal-line only disputes, I made the comment on here a few months ago about it being a start, a step in the right direction.

If you include the poor decisions in the other televised game today, that means United ended up with two extra points from an offside goal and Liverpool two less points from a clearly onside one. In both cases the ball was "dead" and the TV replays were shown within seconds.

And don't get me started on Mark Klutzenberg's farcical decision to book and send off Torres.

    Ridiculous. He should appeal it.

As we're on stupid refereeing decisions, why was Agger booked against Anzhi in the Europa League game?

The keeper was holding the ball with only one hand. Agger shouldn't have been booked and the goal should have stood.

... and if the rules say otherwise they should be changed.

Yes, Torres must appeal and it will surely be rescinded. Fat lotta good that'll do Chelsea though as, already down to ten men, that ludicrous decision effectively sealed their fate today.

As for the Agger incident. Firstly, I'm not too sure of the exact rule there. Think we need our ex-ref Paul Taximan to clarify that one for us.

Regardless, the booking itself was totally unnecessary.

Ladyboy Torres IMO should have been sent off for this challenge on Cleverly - no difference to De Jong's challenge in the WCF.

The ball wasn't even within playing distance for Torres - it was a very dangerous challenge/tackle & referees are instructed to dismiss players for this type of offence.

Torres is a very nasty piece of work (as are other players) especially when things aren't going his way. Sorry but he had to go, it's actually nice for United to come away from Stamford Bridge with a win. Having said that, there is the Capital One Cup on Wednesday,so there will be some revenge to be had by the renties. Howard Webb in charge.

That wasn't the incident I was referring to. I had to take a phone call and missed this challenge. I am assuming Torres got his first yellow card for this? Admittedly, from that still picture it looks pretty bad, though I'd like to see it in normal action play (I'll see if I can google that later) to judge properly.

As for Torres being a nasty piece of work, I'm genuinely perplexed at that assertion. I saw very little of that when he was at Liverpool or since his move to the Chavs, though in common with many skillful forwards, he's often on the receiving end of ultra crap tackles from certain thug-like defenders, plenty of which go unpunished, week in week out. A frustrated player who feels he doesn't get enough protection from refs and once in a while loses his cool? Sure. A dirty one? No, not having that.

As for the second yellow card for alleged simulation, I think Klutterbug was the only person there who took that view. Two wrongs don't make a right.

On the news this morning I saw Suarez's dive in front of the Everton bench - hilarious.

Like I said in an earlier post, Moyes can have no complaints there. He became the latest in a long line of managers (OPN, Tony Pulis, etc) trying to influence refs just before their games against Liverpool by mouthing off about what a diver Suarez allegedly is. It would have been poetic justice indeed had the linesman not bottled it by disallowing his perfectly legit "winner" right at the end.

Amazing game of footy on Sky right now.

Arsenal, 4-0 down after just over half an hour and a pale shadow of their former selves, fight back to make it 4-4 in the fifth minute of injury time.

They are now 5-4 ahead with about twelve mins of extra time left. Great stuff. Football, eh!!

    edit... 5-5. Wow!

6-5 to the Arse! Speechless! What a game!!

    Final score...7-5.

    Phew!! That's all folks.
