    Morning all.

Nice to see United player Darren Fletcher playing footy again last night. Only 30 minutes but it's a sign of his health returning.

Also United sign Chilean attacker Angelo Henriquez. The van Persie saga goes on though.

Off to Manchester later to meet up with one of our American YF's, more later.

Something Wenger has proved himself to be very good at on previous occasions.

I think RSG hope to replicate that model at Anfield - but n a shorter timescale. Methinks they'll be lucky..

Be interested to see how the Arse fare this year.

Good day - if there's anybody out there.

So SAF get van Persie, should make United's strike force rather mouth watering to watch. Could have done with a central mid-fielder & a left back. But you never know with SAF.
I am very slowly getting into the mood for the forthcoming season.

I am quite surprised OPN was prepared to fork out that sort of money, bearing in mind the points I raised in post # 64. Nevertheless, if the Van man can stay clear of injury then who knows, Nitid might just about recoup the near £60m outlay (fee plus £200k per week wages) in the form of extra trophies and all the money associated with that success, particularly in the CL. Still a bit of a gamble though, bearing in mind, at his age, he has little or no sell-on value now should things go pear-shaped.

I'm sure the intelligence into matters at the Emirates must be one of the reasons.

Breaking News! Reports of a fire at RVPs London flat. Police suspect Arsene.

    Here's a little post-Olympic joke I read...

Anyone else wishing they could get across to the US to catch this current go-round? Sure is looking like a lot of fun!

Evening (what's left of it) all. Another set back in the house repairs saga, as we've just had the bathroom sorted & we can now go ahead & tile, we can't find tiles to match the ones that are already on the wall.
It's really getting to us both now.

It's only funny as a social commentary. The point being that we live in a country (and I'm talking about England here) where Scots, people of mixed-race, blacks and Muslims (i.e. anybody who's not English, Christian and white) have historically and in some instances still do receive short shrift ... except when they do something exceptional that makes England or Britain look good. Then they're everybody's friends.

It's a bit like people seeing Andy Murray as being British when he wins, Scottish when he loses. Andy fits this joke too, along with Chris Hoy, Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah.
