Lame, naive, laughable and stupid
Wow coming to my town !
I'll definitely considering seeing him even tho I didn't go to Auckland to see YES
I'll have to find out what the show is setlist etc and if there is a meet and greet so I can ask him about AWR progress LOL
I heard he's been asked to do a cameo in the now 3 Hobbit films...
Matt
Tom, Bert, Bill??? Which troll are you today?
"Hippies please use side door"
"It is Best To Consult Others Before Taking Unusual Actions"
I'm not sure who's more dangerous, the band or the fans.....
On a whim I tried buying tickets yesterday. I don't know if it's a Ticketek glitch or just bad info, but I bought 2 VIP meet-and-greet tickets, no problem.
There was a nice advert in the Dominion Post for the NZ shows.
...so marvelously had it been constructed, that from a hundred feet away the tiny crack between wood and stone was completely invisible.
I've got my tickets for both Auckland and Christchurch shows!
Christchurch show will be at the Aurora Centre - a school auditorium, but nice venue. We don't have too many decent venues left these days thanks to the earthquakes. Great that Rick decided to come!
Can anyone advise what to expect from
a] the setlist
b] a "meet and greet"
Thanks for posting this, I hadn't known. I have now booked for the Wellington Concert, good timing as I have really been enjoying Rick's work recently.
The Wellington show is sold out, which is very encouraging. I had worried a little because the first home game for the Phoenix is at the same time. Perhaps there's not that much of an overlap of the fan bases. Or perhaps like me the other Phoenix fans are going to record the game to watch later.

C'mon Rick. Swing over the ditch and do a few nites in Oz too
The mind is like a parachute; it works much better when it's open.
I posted this review on the Wakeman board, thought i'd post it here too.
I went to the Wellington concert last night & loved it.
My first time seeing Rick or any of Yes. Fabulous stories (very funny and somewhat dodgy) a great intimate setting so Rick was nice and close, the audience loved him.
It was excellent seeing what he could do armed with just a piano & that he had great solo piano arrangements for these pieces.
From memory he played
Merlin the Magician from Arthur
Morning has Broken
Catherine of Aragon
Nursery rhymes in the style of various composers
And You and I/Wondrous Stories
Gone but not forgotten - from Always with You
Eleanor Rigby
Jig - from Cirque Surreal
Made me realise once again how this man lives and breathes music and what a joy it was to have that shared with us.
There was a special tour CD for sale which combined Always with You and the Christmas Variations. As I like to get at least one new Christmas CD every year that was good for me, and the CD will serve as a great living memento to a great night.
Thanks Rick!
There's a review of the Auckland show in the NZ Herald, http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainm...ectid=10839157. There's also a review of the Wellington show in the Dominion Post, but not online.
'Twas a very good night. Hopefully he'll be invited back soon (hint to promoters).

Another review of the Auckland show.

Thank you for the reviews
Did anyone go to the meet & greet [assuming there was one] I was considering going if only to ask when we can expect AWR to produce something but I figured he would simply answer "hopefully" or a similar response
