First of all I am not saying this is 100% fact this is definite or that the rest of the band shares Squire's vision of the future
Ok we got that all cleared up! Squire just said something I think we should discuss. That's all no fact's defininites or 100%'s just Squire said something and if it's ok i think it's something we should talk about it..
Here is the quote from a recent interview
NICK DERISO: Is it too early to think long term? Will Davison go back into the studio with you?
CHRIS SQUIRE: I think that’s going to be a natural progression, now. The next thing Yes does, going into next year, will be another studio album of original material — with Jon involved. That’s how I see us going into 2013.
here is the link

also on Jon Anderson
NICK DERISO: Fans have consistently talked about a reunion with Jon Anderson — but he’s made it clear he doesn’t want to tour the way Yes does. Do you leave room for, perhaps, doing something in the studio?
CHRIS SQUIRE: You know, I’ve never closed the door on doing something wiht Jon again. But we’d have to see how that could be done. The setting would have to be right for that to occur, because it would be a shame to build up a new Yes lineup with Jon Davison and then bring Jon Anderson back in. That would make what we’re doing now seem like a secondary project. Even if we had him just in for a few dates, the business side would be pressuring us: Can you do more, can you do an album? It just may not ever happen. But, having said that, I haven’t closed my mind to it
Say what you will about Chris but the man has Balls Bravo Chris your right bringing back Jon would be a slap in the face to build up of this lineup Bravo for sticking to your guns....
Warning what I am about to do is nothing short of yesfan tom foolary yes I realize my buble will be burst by the next reply but meh
OK Squire said going into 2013 which kinda of means January/February
So what do you think is Squire's dream of January 2013 way to optimistic. Is that realistic? And if Squire's vision comes true what are your thoughts on a January start date for the next yes album?
Personally I see Squire as the gentle controller of yes so If he wants to record in January they will be recording in January.. which makes me think they already have 4-5 songs but that is my opinion they are such good musicians and have such a backlog of demos and unreleased material that they could have 0 songs written go into the studio and have a full 14 track album by may for a July release date.
But still even the most skepitcial of yesfans has to realize the quote above is WAY MORE concrete and specific then previous quotes. I wouldn't be surprised if Squire is right in his "vision" that a press release announcing the january start date doesn't come sometime next month. I think they are realizing fans love Jon D and that they should capatilize on him joining the band ASAP.
ok my thoughts what are your thoughts on Squire's vision for 2013.

What you need to realize is that when people ask him this sort of stuff he has to speculate as much as anybody. "Are you going to make an album next year?" Answer: "Sure, I think so." Which translates to "Sure. Maybe. Who the fukc knows. If we're alive, people have time, someone pays for it, a dozen variables line up, we will. If they don't, we won't. I don't have a crystal freaking ball. I'd like to."
That's what he wants to say, but you can't really. Don't read too much into every word people say in an interview. A lot of it is politeness and frankly, a lot of what Chris and Jon A. is just stuff that occurs to them that particular second and doesn't mean diddly and they'll contradict it the next day. It's no biggie.![]()

i dunno the last time he said he wanted to be in the studio was summer 2010 which about 2-3 weeks later Frotniers signed them and yes was recording in october. I think this has more weight then just well someone spewing BS.
oh and Alan Said this
"We're thinking about the potential direction (for a new album)," he says

It was 50% AND 50% of merchandising... Then it went down to 33% and 40% of mechandising respectively for Jon... With the other 3 splitting the rest... Of course the pay for the hired keyboard player was off the top. That's what the end contract was for the CTTE&B tour..... Jon also kept pushing for a certian person to be the band manager (not tour manager)..... I'll leave it to the ever astute to figure out who that person was![]()
OK, and Danny, you're taking it too seriously again... "Going into next year" means We should be able to start something SOMETIME next year... Don't put any more of a time frame on it than that. Tehre's a very long time between now and then...
They're pretty happy playing together right now.... So....
I just don't see Jon Anderson ever back with them.... It would have to end up with them having no other choices for whatever reason OR a ---- TON of money on the tablew.. And that amount of money ain't happening...
Again, they're having fun.... They're playing well... Unelss the wheels fall off.. This IS the Yes of today and will be the Yes of tomorrow...![]()

i am pretty sure that chris used the same "he owns the role"comment about benoit early in his stay with yes so i would say early days for any predictions.i find it interesting that he uses the word role, indicating maybe that this position is open to anyone available to replicate the original and not much about somebody with their own individual style
Another National Enquirer post full of speculation and twisting of words into some delusional future. It is not 100% fact that the stage in 2013 may be full of rainbows and living unicorns on a set modeled after my Little My Pony. I think we should talk about that.
2013 could be anywhere from January 1 to December 31.

As someone else all ready said, for an new album there has to be a bit more in place then just the will of doing another one. Alot of criteria have to be exactly right.
What I do like is how Chris puts his faith into this current line-up and I think he is absolutely bang on when he says: "...it would be a shame to build up a new Yes lineup with Jon Davison and then bring Jon Anderson back in. That would make what we’re doing now seem like a secondary project".
I also don't see why a band that is finally happy again on a personal level and where everyone gets along great with each other once more, would want to give up that for going back to a situation where there is a lot of tention between bandmembers and the situation is often stressfull (this actually goes for both the band and Anderson, who is happy doing his solo thing). A pretty large bag of $$ has to come along to put everything that ever went on between all parties to rest and I don't think that there is interest anymore to give them such a large bag......
The mind is like a parachute; it works much better when it's open.

It's about the money and the funny thing is it is like human nature where the person who says it isn't it really is like Bruce Springsteen. Yes should be healthy but with 12 items in their store and most items with 2011 on them that is a piss poor job of branding. I know 12 year old kids who do programs for their Justin Bieber parties on a lap top but no Yes program at the show! You can't sell from an empty store just ask Roger Waters. I love Jon & his music but he has an ego like we all do really but he also jabbed at the band when they were trying to get on their feet and that is a sign of lack of character to me. I see Jon at his solo gigs & he acts like a person who has had a bitter divorce and does not look happy to me. I guess it is better to be Elton than to be in Foreigner, hi Lou! Life, are we almost there yet?
Rabin105, I'll be ready to anticipate, elaborate and air my excitement with you here when we do get an official announcement of YES getting into a studio to record a new album. This is just chit-chat, having no better thing to reply indeed as others have pointed out. And by this I'm not saying they won't be doing a new album someday and maybe even in 2013. It's just pointless to rejoice now on so little.
