Thread: Jon Lord R.I.P.

    Jon Lord R.I.P.

Per Joe Satriani, Jon Lord has passed away. May he rest in peace. I became a huge fan of his from watching the Deep Purple with the London Symphony Orchestra DVD. Such a loss.

One of the best Keyboard Players of all time. RIP Jon. Deep Purple MkII was awesome. A personal favourite for me.
What Jon did with a Hammond Organ & a Leslie!

    Very Sad!
We had the news about the cancer last year. I was hoping he would recover.

Yeah man, definitely a guy we idolized as teens. Me and a guitar playing friend of mine were hugely into R Blackmore Purple/ Rainbow/ and all the connections like Whitesnake. Love his organ sounds.

Cargo of diamonds as you are: nothing more valuable, nothing more tough.

She's an equal opportunity offender, a societal wildcard. You can't control her, only hope to contain her, even then she refuses to be possessed. If she were a coin, you would spend her, unwillingly. If she were an animal, you'd free her to the wilderness.

I'm listening to Fireball at the moment. Lord's solo in the title song is one of my favourites.

He made the organ rock, sometimes sounding more like he was playing an electric guitar. R.I.P. Jon.

A true musician who seemed capable of turning his hand to anything, from the most mental of heavy rock to the most beautiful subtleties of classical. He is gonna be missed so much.
    Rest In Peace Jon.
