So I guess rehearsals are on there way. Also last month Geoff spent some days with Steve Howe to practice, according to his own words, for some of the stuff they are planning to play that have not been played in a long time.
cool can't wait till the 11th as the 10th is the show the 11th is when we'll all know the set list.
From Earl Grey's 2003 review of the Hawaiian Yes show
    "Owner Of A Lonely Heart:
Tonight Meistro Steve Howe has made this song his own..... All the fire was there: Howe's loopy angles intact, playing Owner as if it were the long lost track from 'Relayer'!
    Perfection."

I will let those who want to know the set list straight after the show on the 1oth, might even tweet from show itself.

If they do play Awaken, I wonder which song(s) they will dump from the setlist?
The storms of life They came
as we made our way towards home
and foes, they rose to strike us down

    These are not the Truth

Owner will be dumped and I recon YIND is gone as well. A set list as suggested by Reflections in the 'have a guess at the setlist' is ver likely I feel:

    Does It Really Happen?
    I've Seen All Good People
    Life on a Film Set
    And You And I
    Steve Solo
    Fly From Here Suite
    Wonderous Stories
    Machine Messiah
    Awaken
    Starship Trooper
    Roundabout

My first thought was: "Nothing wrong with a good Graham Nash B-side." :)

I would hate to see any of the classics dumped in order to fit the FFH suite into the setlist. Jon D can do the classics so much justice, and I believe from watching the clips on YouTube where he is the singer, the band doesn't worry about him doing his part and concentrates on doing their best. It's a much better Yes with Jon D. IMHO!

    Re: Yes rehearsals

If Yes is going to survive they need to play what the people want to hear. I saw Pat Benatar last year. She played one song from her newest album. That was the only part of the concert where the crowd sat down. Everything else was her hits. The crowd loved the concert. That's why Sir Paul plays Beatles and Wings songs. Hardcore Yes fans want to hear the obscure stuff, but they need to concentrate on pleasing the masses in order for them to survive.

That is exactly how I feel. The band does seem much happier, but during the Aussie tour they played better then they had for a long time, because each one of them were able to concentrate on their own playing again.

However I want this band to look forward as well and not only back, so I don't mind if they put in a lot from FFH. And I even feel that JD is doing a better job on those songs as well as the original singer of them.....

Well yes and no. Of course they have to play some ammount of classics in order to please their audience, but judging from crowd reactions on both the Euro tour as the Aussie tour the new stuff, with the exception of Life on a Filmset maybe, was very much apperciated.

I could do without Does It Really Happen?, Wonderous Stories, and Machine Messiah to hear a few more of the classics now that Jon D is the vocalist.

We've reached a point where the classics are getting tiring. I think the best combination we can get is the new songs, never played or haven't played live in years tracks and a few set staples (All Good People, Starship, Roundabout, etc.). Just so the band stays fresh and not bogged down playing the same classic song(s) over and over, so instead pull out something special.
