Really? I create them all the time if only for the fun of being busey and playing around with Yes music. Sometimes taking songs out of there album context shines a different light on those songs, I find and you would be surprised in how some songs from different albums and era's go together very well. For instance on one compilation I put 'Dreamtime', cut of the orchestral ending and let the last bass note be followed by 'Turn of the Century' and that makes for a beautiful pairing of songs IMO and made me re-apperciate both songs.
The mind is like a parachute; it works much better when it's open.
Homeworld is a gem, for sure, but I thought a good mix of the era's "singles" (to attract the casual Yes fan), the two true epics (to reveal the science of Yes as it were) and a couple of the gentler moments (for the boys to use in their latest failed attempt to convince their partners to come to the next show, or, at the very least, the couch) would make it saleable. The double vinyl gatefold is for guys like me who already have it all but need an excuse to part with some wages for no good reason.
I thought it was kind of a cool happenstance that the chronological order also provided the best flow. Imma go make that mix now.

I'll indulge...I don't think much of Yes in the 90's. In my opinion Yes last good "Yes" song was Shoot High Aim Low, which was from 1987 by mr. Alan White. I did like homeworld a bit...only because I liked that game and Yes was connnected to it. I actually had a friend who was a big Rush fan but saw the Yes from the House of Blues special on DirectTV centered around Homeworld. His wife told me how he watched it all the time on DirectTV free view, which was cool to me. He was impressed as he never was before about Yes. Howe played a masterful Yours is No Disgrace on that piece and I think that's what did it for him.
So, this is the ranking so far.....

Mr. Holland: Thank you for your work on the tally. Four songs from my favorite 90's songs list are in the top six. (I never cared for Homeworld, and don't even remember New Language.)
Um, but then again I was the only person to pick the three tracks, Evensong, Wonderlove and Face to Face. So much for me thinking my tastes in Yes songs is in vogue.
