I don't expect we will unless the tracks they've been trading back-and-forth take on a more cohesive shape before the end of the year. But with Jon and Rick on other projects and appearances, and Trevor working on scoring the first season of Zero Hour, it's unlikely, IMO.

Re: AWR back on and for 2012 ?!

So here's what Jon had to say when asked the question yet again, from an interview posted yesterday on the Audioholics website:
AH: Can you give us some insight into the news about you joining up with Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman?
JA: Well, like anything. It's a process. It will happen when it happens. I'm never that sure when it will happen, but I just know it will happen. I'm in touch with Rick and Trevor all the time. They're busy doing things and you know, I'm busy doing things, but we've talked about some ideas we've come up with and music that we've come up with and it's really a question of timing. Maybe next year is going to be the year.
AH: Do you have any idea who will be on drums and bass?
JA: Got no idea at all. We talked about getting an ensemble on stage with three of us, rather, you know, than five or six or seven other musicians. To create a very big musical pallet; like film score sort of thing. So we talked about it on different levels, so we'll see what happens.
AH: Do you think it will be something you do in a virtual studio or do you think that you'll try to do some studio time together when the time comes?
JA: I think we'll probably do virtual. You know, the World is a studio now. You can create all different kinds of music. You don't even have to leave you home if you work with a computer. That's what the computer is for, it's a gift.

So in a nutshell it's nothing more substantial then 2-3 years ago......

Pretty much, yeah; which is exactly why I didn't ask Trevor about it when I interviewed him.

Couldn't we trick the three of them into being in one place, ofcourse it happens to be a studio, at the same time and then lock and barricade all the doors for like two months?!..

Maybe get Jon and Rick to move in with Trevor & Shelley like the members of Grouplove did! Jon can even put up a teepee in the backyard. And then it could all be recorded in The Jacaranda Room.

well they have and continue [it appears] to exchange music, 2-3 years ago it was just talk [excuse the pun] albeit at a glacial pace

    I was wondering that

    -------------------------------------

I also wonder if they have all asked their own respective managements to book out time when they are all actually free i.e. schedule ?

This sounds like a promising premise for a reality show, also.

In Trevor's case, he decides when he's free, in that when he decided to finally complete Jacaranda last year he told Laura (his agent) that he wasn't taking on any new scoring work until the album was finished.

So the fact that he hasn't told his agent the same concerning this AWR thing is maybe telling of how much of a priority it is....

I think the idea was forced - after a fashion - with Rick's announcement, and the timing wasn't ideal. The fact that it hasn't really advanced in two years shows at least one of them doesn't consider it a priority given all the work which has taken its place among the three of them. I think it's fairly obvious that the lynchpin is not willing to turn right now.

If you want something to happen you make time and do it. It harder when its a group of people but the same principle applies- As others have noted this is simply a case of "wouldn't it be nice" but other things are more important. As for Bill Bruford- a major obstacle is he has retired- another is found in the pages of the Yesstories book that paints a rather clear picture of his (then) attitudes/views about "Maestro Anderson" and TR as a Yesman and rock/prog rock.- at least I interpret this information's a particular way which suggests that we are not going to see BB in any WAR!

Great words of positivity Tim. I'm certainly not giving up on it!! This could be one of the most dynamic and exciting things to happen in Yes (related) history.

It depends on what's cooking. If I want a good stew it can take hours of slowly, slowly simmering......

Guys it simple isn't going to happen. Rick talked about this way before he should have because (his) politics were at play. I would bet that TR is out totally because he is still friends with the other guys and does NOT want to split the camp even further, if that was possible! At the very best TR will be the bridge builder to Union II.

TR has also publicly said that he more or less feels that for it to be Yes, it needs Jon:

Henry: In the late 1980s, you, Chris Squire and the others tried continuing Yes without Jon Anderson, but ultimately there was the Union. Having faced that challenge yourself, what do you think of your old band mates now continuing Yes without Jon?

Trevor: I love Chris like a brother and wish only the best for him. But I think Jon is such an important part of YES, and it's not just the sound. It's the input and perspective that Jon brings. It sometimes is tough, but it's so worth it.

I seem him working with Jon and Rick sooner than with Yes......

"TR has also publicly said that he more or less feels that for it to be Yes, it needs Jon:"

Trevor is just being polite because he feels he is torn between the two camps.

Just tell me one thing. Trevor, Rick and Jon all have various other projects going on. Why should they hurry, who would it benefit? They will be ready when they're ready. I do believe at this time that if AWR comes to frutition, it will be a studio project only.
