    Boxcar Willie !!
    Not really . . Marty Robbins, Glen Campbell, The Dixie Chicks, Sara Evans;
    these come to mind. I'm not real keen on the old Country/Western stuff as my Dad
    used to watch the Cal Worthington show and it ruined me.

    Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and the great lady herself, Patsy Cline.

    I dig me some Hank Sr. from time to time too.

    My mom saw Hank Sr. in Tucson Arizona in the fifties. She said he was drunk and very rude. All he did was gripe about how hot it was.

    I think that Willie Nelson is the hippest classic.

    Dude, if I were stuck in Tucson, I'd be drunk and rude and I'd gripe about the heat.

    Willie Nelson is the king of country music! Love Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and George Jones.

    I also like Wille and Waylon....especially together.

    The new stuff isn't country......it's country pop.

    I really was a fan of Johnny Cash when I was a kid.

    These days I'm a fan of Darius Rucker.

    Re: What's your favorite country/western song-artist??

    I saw Boxcar Willie perform at the Minnesota State Fair about 30 years ago.

    My wife likes many of the newer country artists and has dragged me to several concerts. Eric Church was the artist that was most tolerable since he's almost a rock act with country-style lyrics.

    Re: What's your favorite country/western song-artist??

    In picking my favorite country/pop song, it's without a doubt "I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womack. The lyrics are brilliant and the arrangement close to perfection.
    O.K., let me have it !!
