A friend said she was suffering from a burning tongue. Now I have it. She went to her doc to get some sort of cortisone med. That's a symptomatic reliever, so I'm guessing it's a minor virus which will pass in a few days. I can't afford to see a doc.

Also, I've been taking my BP med for a couple of days and the severe leg cramps have begun again as I trying to sleep. When I finally get up in the morning, it feels like the muscles in my shins and feet are sprained. I had a banana yesterday for potassium. I guess I need to eat 2 a day until the spasms stop.

Supplements. Magnesium and Potassium. Chelated preferred. Drink LOTS of water.
The potassium in bananas wary widely, even at peak levels, not as much as you need.

Many blood pressure medications are diuretics which will drain the potassium from your body.
Make sure yours is a potassium sparing one.

However, beware of the BP drug Maxide.
The doctor found out it was the cause of my kidney stone.

    Dear Kirk,

Don't magnesium & potassium fight in the body? That's all I can remember, but I want to start taking magnesium for energy again. What do I need to know about taking them together?

Every time I take the St. John's Wart, I think of you and I am soooo grateful. It makes February's tolerable for me. Thanks again!

try tonic water with quinine in it. for some reason the quinine stops the cramps in some people. [never tried it, but a doc recommended it to a buddy and he said it worked]
once i started a multi vitamin and a fish oil pill every day, mine seemed to subside, but i clean a house with three stories and after one day there, i get cramps AND shin splints!! so-next up-a better pair of shoes!!

i am calling today a "no thinking day"
keep it light-no religion or political debates-no nasty piccolo playing for the nasty neighbor..just gonna take my last surviving dog out into the woods cause she isnt doing too well..
not gonna let the world interfere with quality time with my beautiful B.G. dog.. her mom is gone and so is her brother and sister. the old cat walked inot the woods and never came back right before peggy got here. so we're down to one kitty and one old dog now. my burglar alarm is gone cause she cant hear anymore.. just wanna Honor my dog in her last days..
i see so much death and disease at the vet where i work.. just wanna make sure i do all i can for my beloved companion..while she is still here..
Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened.

It is very sad that the baby Panda born last week at the National Zoo in Washington D.C., died on Sunday.

    Poor little thing.

I know they are the darlings of the dog world. Cute, loving, happy. I know. Some of you told me when I posted a number of articles about them killing and maiming children, other dogs, the elderly, grown men...

There have been no less than 10 articles like this since I was assured these are lovely animals. Who cares if I happen to think they are ticking time bombs with a history of violence?:

    http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012...-in-texas?lite

Just please be careful and keep them away from the neighbors kids, if not your own. Be considerate, if not for the very real possibility they'll kill someone, but at least for the fear they instill...ok? Chances are the people you bring them around are at least a bit unnerved, but don't have the heart to tell you, making their anxiety even a bit more.

Get it? We don't want that sh*t around us, ok? I brought my son over for a play date a couple of months back and they had a f*cking Pit Bull. I gave the lady a look and against my better nature let my son stay there a few hours, worrying I'd have to drop a huge lawsuit on somebody for not watching their beast as it tears into my son.

... Again, keep them away from people outside your own family....we'd appreciate it.

Animal Control Officer: "The dog didn't seem upset."

Probably didn't seem upset the last time it got loose and bit a neighbor (according to the newscast), either. Probably discribed as a nice dog too.

What's wrong? Don't you have faith in the future???

The best can yet be to come. Throw the past in the trash start from the beginning again. Nobody and nothing is worth dwelling over. Unlike the future, the past is O V E R. G O N E. L O S T.

THe past makes us who we are today.
It would be insanity to let go of it.
You just have to find the proper compartment in which to carry it around with you.

Your last sentence is eloquent. I need my compartment to be not-my-heart and not-my-head, but I'm just not there yet.

Aww shoot ! I'd heard of the baby's birth. This is the first I'd heard of the loss.

Why is it so heard for Pandas to have a healthy pregnancy and give birth to a healthy baby?

If it's because human taken over their G-d given space on this Earth, this I strongly suggest those humans, including us (me too) in some cases, are relocated to allow the animals to thrive. Obviously a zoo presents a different set of hazards, yet I believe the panda population on our planet is already threatened.
