The world is one spirit emptier today.
Sky was black, Lord, rain came pouring down
Number 12 bus shuffling down Shaw Road way
Mules keep spinning, black-faced lifers peck the ground
Sun comes up like lightning over Tandle Hills grey
All the bickering and tittle tattle that goes on here and outside of here is put into perspective when one of us dies.
We sometimes spend too much time focussing on our differences, when really we should be celebrating one another every day. For this, I am as guilty as the next person.
All the good things said about Garry on Yesfans and Facebook, should also be said by us all to each other.
After all your soul will still surrender
After all, don't doubt your part be ready to be loved
well, he missed the flood.. and he'll miss the election.. and he'll miss the End of the World in december,. too..
Hope his family is doin ok...
Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened.

I was on vacation and didn't hear the news about Garry until today. I am very sad that he is gone. Garry and I had some great conversations online about some very deep subjects. I felt as though he was kin in mind on many things. I finally met him in person when we attended the Patrick Moraz show a few years back. He was in such a good mood and seemed so full of life that night. That is how I will remember him. Garry was a deep thinker and yet in many ways quite childlike in his ability to step back and see the whole of some very complex ideas. I have missed our conversations online. I won't forget him.

Someone was posting all sorts of old pictures from his childhood, on Facebook this weekend. The pictures made me smile and also made me sad.
