totp march 31 '71. The site claims Yours is no disgrace(edit) but i would of thought it was ISAGP given how bruford is standing behind his drums-

Ok, guys! First of all, I was browsing through the yemuseum.org website, the other day when I stumbled across the cover of a japanese version of the Roundabout single. The photograph on the cover of the single is Yes performing in front of a set identicle to the one on the photo and of the TOTP props from '71.

The quality is not the best, but the set is still identifiable. I have heard that Yes played "Starship Trooper". I have also heard that they played and edit of "Yours is no Disgrace". My guess is that they appeared on the Album Section of TOTP. Artists usually performed (or rather, lipsynched) a 15 minute setlist with two or three songs. Starship Trooper + YIND edited down to half, would take aproximately that long. I'm afraid, this is probably deep in the vaults of the BBC. As they want ludicrous fees for licensing, it is improbable that we will ever see this.

Do you have any idea what it costs to make television programmes?

The licence fee is £145.50 p.a. frozen for the next six years.

That works out to about 39p a day, about 20% of the price of a Starbucks coffee.

Personally, I don't begrudge them one penny of it.

And of course, if you buy a Starbucks, you're paying for ITV whether you watch it or not.

According to Steve Sullivans Yes gigs page they played Starship Trooper and America on TotP's and...

Yes wanted to play the coveted 'album spot' part of the show, but apparently had to settle for less because the producers didn't like their music (Welch). This gig may actually be the April 1 gig listed below."

I haven't read all of the posts but I do know for a fact that Yes appeared on Top of the Pops singing Yours is no Disgrace. That's what got me into them in the first place. Yes - TOTP was a singles show but for a short while they had an album spot. I also remember Osibisa being on and of course their first album featured a brilliant Roger Dean cover which I bought too.

Unfortunately it was wiped but if See Emily Play turned up, maybe this will too! I wouldn't bet on it though...
Peace, love, long live rock n roll
