And tomorrow it would be a different 5, there are so many great tracks by this great band- and I agree with whteskyn7 what could have been on Azured'or with an orchestra- Golden Key as well- also its my understanding that Only Angels Have Wings was supposed to be sung by Annie but se was ill and Jon did it instead
I am so happy with Azured'or the way it is and it's one of my favorite Renaissance albums. SOOOO glad they didn't use an orchestra on that one! That is why Annie didn't sing "Only Angels Have Wings"??? They should have waited! Love that whole album. Told that to Annie once in person and she acted like she really disliked that one! Oh well.... Wish she would still do "Forever Changing"!
Have to disagree with you future timer- the problem for me is that John Tout has said that he was trying to emulate an orchestra- replacing it with synths, which he said, at the time sounded fairly realistic. In hindsight they don't at all.If they had tried to simply be more acoustic as with some of their earlier albums then I would agree with you- I suppose Jeckel and Hyde would stay fairly much the same- but as for the rest of it- as Justin Hayward once said- an orchestra will always sound better than a mellotron
