They played RSOG on the radio!

Really! Last Friday night in the 11:00pm hour the show "Stonehenge" (http://www.stonehengeatlanta.blogspo...?q=stonehenge/) played RSOG! (Been meaning to mention it....) and then spoke quite knowledgeably about Tales and Yes.

The show is archived for 2 weeks here: http://www.wrek.org/Schedule?afternoon

Outside of satellite, that is exciting. Most stations won't touch TFTO. Very cool.

Good god, couldn't imagine any station i listen to playing RSOG. Always a nice suprise to hear Yes on the radio because its so rare, although owner pops up quite a bit! Suprised Your Move is never heard on classic radio here in the UK.

Deep Tracks on XM has played the Remembering, other rare Yes songs, also Circa:

The "deepest track" I have heard on XM was Tempus Fugit a couple of months ago. I'd be super excited to hear Tales on XM let alone a regular old radio station.

I'll never forget this one day back when I was a young man in my early twenties. I was waiting tables at a Texas Steak-house and over the PA/intercom SSOTS all the sudden sprang forth. My jaw hit the floor.

    Strange days indeed.

Not counting satellite or internet radio(I listen to both) probably the only place you'll hear interesting or progressive music on the radio(occasionally)is on college or independent radio. WBCC (z88.9)out of Burlington county NJ has a show on Saturday nights called the Gagliarchives which plays mostly prog but also some fusion and prog metal. If you live in the Philly or south Jersey area you can listen to it on the radio. If not then you can tune in on the internet(gagliarchives.com or aural moon).

WXRT in Chicago used to play all sorts of Yes, but not anymore.
    They occasionally play Rick Wakeman.

Once on the news on WTNH channel 8 in New Haven, during the weather they showed a film of a stream in spring while they played "Ocean Song" from Jon's "Olias" album.

But on any broadcast radio station I've never heard anything but the usual handful of often played Yes songs.

Two days ago I'm driving around, playing the scan button like a turn signal, and come to 100.3 The Sound, and it's Triple Play Live Thursday, and they announce that they're going to play three live tracks from Yes next.

    And they did.

Can you guess which three live tracks they played? I actually guessed two of the tracks correctly (although I wasn't trying to figure out which version . . . ).

TIME TRIP RADIO really loves YES ~ a 7 hour monthly podcast / in sections ~ your Progressive Psychedelic Space Station

    www.timetripradio.com
(check this url to view all current & archived programming)

mixing eras with a very broad definition of "progressive" music. Where else will you hear "Twilight Zone" & "Outer Limits" dialogue and soundtracks along with vintage sci-fi time related themes mixed with great musics you know & musics you don't know.

here are just a few links to sections with some Yes:

That's not unusual for prog internet radio but it certainly is for mainstream fm radio. WXPN in Philly has their annual prog show right after New Years where they might play something like Close to the Edge. One year they played "sound chaser." They are FM but are technically public radio so not sure if that counts or not. :P
