I agree that people should not do the personal insult thing. That's not cool.

The above quote from me was an attempt at humour except for the Yesworld part. It was bound to happen as people get bold sitting behind a computer and furiously pounding the keystokes. The idea of accountability goes out the window when their is no one to reel you in. The idea of slander and libility have vanished from our internet society which is too bad because you can be prosecuted for what you say over the internet as well as what you say in other mediums. No one has to put up with tirades and the idea that your negative critisicms can ruin the enjoyment other people experience has flown out the window. I personally know two people who are in the process of joining the F.B.I.'s cybercrime unit which is a growing stronger as the gov. becomes more concerned with cybercrime which includes threats, etc.... Yesworld is a fantastic site and probably the 1st site I visited back in 94(?). I'm glad the tour forum is down for now as Mike said it was being used for a purpose that it was not intended to be used for. Another attempt at humour here but why not send the screamers back to where they belong A.M.Y. . Thanks, Matt

What If Alan became a "Gorn" creature from the "Arena" episode of Startrek, Would Chris be able to figure out the primative cannon like Kirk and knock Alan out with it before Alan does everybody in with his obsidian dagger? What would the Metrons think of Yes?

So many of those reviews on Yesworld, both positive and negative, read as if they were written by folks who could barely string two sentences together. There were a few intelligently written comments floating in a sea of dreck.

Re: Yesworld reviews: Down till further notice

I was at the Ruth Eckerd Hall show in Florida. I absolutely love YES. That being said, I was disappointed. While it was great to see them again, the sound was way off. Chris was playing as good as he always does, but it was a muddy mess. Maybe it was the building, but Peter Frampton's sound wasn't like that. Then there was Oliver Wakeman. Either you couldn't hear the keyboards at all or when you could, he was playing the parts just ever so incorrectly. Did they skip rehearsing? It did seem that way. I know everyone is going to hate what I am saying, but that was my experience. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Still a big YES fan though. <o:p></o:p>

Sad to see Yesfans.com drift downhill. Had a great conversation with a Postal Service employee yesterdayafter I mentioned I just saw Yes. I brought it up because I knew he likes Rush. A great conversation ensued about the concert in 11/08 we both were at (he brought two of his kids) and how Benoit and Oliver were ably filling in some very big shoes. This was soon after I had read a particularly mean/rude post by the Frum. I really wondered why I spend time here just to be brought down by all the negativity, when I just got the fellowship I enjoy in person at the Post Office and visiting with fellow concertgoers after the show on Saturday. It often gets pretty irrelevant, especially after seeing an incredible performance by Yes on Saturday night. Some of the emperors around here have no clothes on.

Within the range of means by which we communicate, varying from the tangible and common to the more controversial methods, music astoundingly rouses us on an undeniably emotional plane. And when lyrics combine with melody to coincidentally mirror our mental state, the experience is like no other.

I'm thinking of a certain Yes album without Jon and a certain 70s band whose collaboration with David Bowie was sampled by Vanilla Ice as I read this.

    So... let's see here...

A person on this forum is calling the people who posted insults directed at the band "morons."

By insulting the insulting with the insult "moron" then the insulter insulting the other insulting insulters.....

    Are outsourced insults outsults?

Go see all the Yes you want and tell the whole world that it's the greatest thing going. I mean that with all sincerity. I have something to contribute and so do you, as that's the reason we are posting here. For you to say that Yesfans is drifting down just because you disagree with someone else is silly. Go ahead and reduce it even further by having that thought process.

Bobby--Sounds like you got a good show this last time out. That's great man. I wish I had had the same experience!!

What we have here is a band giving (based on accounts) wildly inconsistent performances.

    Signed,
    Your Moron.

Yep, that's part of the problem, Yes has been inconsistent, by all accounts. Your ambivelence towards current Yes has always been stated in a balanced, kind andintelligent manner, Matt.

Re: Yesworld reviews: Down till further notice

It is really sad to see the tour reviews page shut down on Yesworld. It was a great place to see the comments from each stop on the tour. As usual, the majority will have to suffer for a few idiots bickering. Anyone who does not know Jon is not in the current lineup is not a Yes Fan. Its been 3 years now. And if you don't care to hear Benoit do not go to the concerts. We would all love to see Jon back but it isn't so. We didn't like to see Trevor come in when he did, but, Yes kept going. And thankfully so. I do think Jon will be back. I went to the concert in Biloxi last week. They started off slow but hit pace in Perpeptual Change. CTTE was as good as ever. The show was short for Yes standards but I enjoyed being there. I know time is not on thier side and I cherrish any time i get to see Steve, Chris and Alan together on stage. My daughter came to the concert with me and enjoyed every second of it. She could not get over how good they are. Lets hope one day we can see them with Jon and Rick back. But for now, lets enjoy what we have.

May I humbly submit that quite a lot of you might be "too into" this band. That's the source of the high emotion, regardless of the side on which you sit.

Should it all matter so, so much??

Re: Yesworld reviews: Down till further notice

It is such a shame that it was taken down, i was waiting to read every day to hear wat people said, I was able to read a few good reviews the first day, which i printed out and brought home to show my daughter .I was lucky enough to win tickets from 105.5 WDHA FM in N.J for the PNC Arts show show june 25th, I am bringing my soon to be 13 year old daughter to her first yes show, i actually printed out one great review from the first night from yesworld and showed it to her. I am also playing the new bands live cd from the yesfans site that i have received . I play it in my car when i pick her up from school. (thank you yesfans) My daughter knows that they sound different, but she knows there is no other favorite band for me but YES (Since roosevelt stadium jersey city 1976) and she is so excited to see them, as i am also, i am preparing myself for something different. My favorite singer of all time is Jon Anderson, but Benoit David can sound alittle like him during the songs. Just to hear Close to the Edge , And you and I - my two favorite songs played by steve Howe and Chris Squire hopefully will be enough for me to enjoy this show to the max, It might be my last live Yesshow ever and that is such a sad thing to ever think about. (I am so glad i have all of the live dvd's released because i watch them often. I love yesfans and Yesworld, both sites have kept me in tune with anything new to Yes, Thank you
