Here's a picture of this thing, if that helps...

I was just given a Diva mp3 player. I've never owned or even operated an mp3 player. There was no instruction manual, and I'm absolutely clueless about how to use this thing, beyond getting it to play.
The 256 mb Compact Flash card that came with it is full of country music...not exactly my cup of tea. I can't figure out how to erase what's on the card.
I was also given a SanDisk device that apparantly plugs into a USB port, and it seems to accommodate the Flash card. I assume this is for uploading mp3 files onto the flash card from my PC.
Anyone have a clue to push me in the right direction? I'd rather have Yes, The Beatles, VDGG, Jethro Tull and Zappa on this device, but I have no idea what to do.

My online search for the instructions has been a failure. I looked for about 2 hours. I found one site that offered a download of the instruction manual for free, but when I followed the instructions it led to a "this page no longer available" message.

This is a cinch.
Personally, I think this is a much better idea than iPod - having to mess with updating thru iTunes and dealing with playlists and libraries and the like.
Using the flash card will be just like using a floppy disc.
Put the card into the card reader, plug it in, and open it. It will appear as a removable drive with a letter like G or F. You can open it just as you would any other drive.
Once you have it open on your screen, you can select and delete all the country music. Then, all you have to do is copy MP3s of the music you want in there.
If you need a program to convert to MP3, try Audacity - its free.
In googling the player, I found some reviews. You might want to try looking at some of them and seeing if there are technical specs for your model. It will tell you if it can handle formats other than MP3 and possibly about what capacity flash cards it handles.[see below]
Also, it might be worth investing in some larger capacity SD cards. I have a 256 MB mini card in my phone and it has all of Tales and all of Yessongs and has almost no room left.
Amazon is good for that - much cheaper than Best Buy.
Don't assume it can handle a huge one. Try 1 or 2 GB, or if you're feeling adventuresome, try 4. (I don't understand why, but devices are limited in the memory capacity of flash cards they accept. My camera is 2 GB and my phone is 4 GB - go figure)
Post back or PM me if you have any questions about the Audacity or cards or anything, Rob . . .
