Four Songs That Sound Good Together

Can you think of sets of 4 songs that sound good together? Imagine you're a radio jockey and you can play whatever you want (no playlist shoved in your face by the station management).

They can be songs that seem to compliment each other musically or because of the topic. They could be songs from the same band, songs from related bands, songs from unrelated bands or whatever.

    I'll start.

1 THEMES Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe (from ABWH)
2 THAT'S IT FOR THE OTHER ONE Grateful Dead
    (from ANTHEM OF THE SUN)
3 TIME Pink Floyd (from DARK SIDE OF THE MOON)
4 THE OCEAN IS THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION Frank Zappa
    (from SLEEP DIRT)

    or

1 BALLAD OF A THIN MAN Bob Dylan (from HIGHWAY 61 REVISIT)
2 FAT MAN Jethro Tull (from STAND UP)
3 FAT Kantner/Slick/Freiberg (from BARON VON TOLLBOOTH)
    4 THE WEIGHT The Band

    or

1 THE GREATEST DISCOVERY Elton John (from ELTON JOHN)
2 (NO MORE) THE SUBMARINER Peter Hammill (from IN CAMERA)
3 WHEN I WAS A BOY The Who (from WHO'S MISSING)
4 LATHER Jefferson Airplane (from CROWN OF CREATION)
"This life is but a doomed journey of misery and loneliness, punctuated by moments of suffering and ending in total annihilation." -Zippy the Pinhead

I know it's kind of odd to reply to my own post, but I was just thinking -- I saw The Shawshank Redemption for the first time a few days ago (I know, it's a classic, how could I have never seen it, blah blah) and I just pictured my self going into a radio studio, locking everybody out, and playing Tales in it's entirety while they frantically tried to make me stop!!!

Re: Four Songs That Sound Good Together

Actually, though, I would love to play 4 new prog songs for the unsuspecting public. Something like:

    1. At the End of the Day -- Spock's Beard. Easily my favorite song by them.

    2. There is More to this World -- The Flower Kings. Debatably my favorite song by them.

    3. Lhasa Road -- Ice Age. Incredible song, listening to the snippet at Amazon.com was enough to convince me to buy the entire album, which is great too! This one's just heavy enough to possibly appeal to the metal heads.

    4. Never the Same -- Echolyn. I would have suggested "Mei," but at 50 minutes I think the unsuspecting public would get somewhat fatigued! "Never the Same" would be an incredible closer for the set, actually (as it is for the album).

The Romantics - What I like about you
Presidents of the United States - Lump
Billy Squier - Wadda Ya want from me
Kiss - Rock 'n Roll all Nite
    Jay

Urban Dictionary defines a "Liquor Locust" as that rare breed that descends on unsuspecting (and sometimes suspecting) households, invades the liquor cabinet, drains it bone dry and then flitters off in search of the next liquor cabinet to be drained. Having experienced this first hand, I can tell you that LLs are a force to be reckoned with.
