oooo it is good...sitcom vehicle for stand up jack dee---like seinfeld but much darker and british---all that passive-agressive,polite chitchat//snarky sarcastic bitchiness,and that's just jack ,as rick spleen,semi-celebrity,father,husband..he's tight,grumpy ,vain and snarky....i can relate---his kid just wants money,his indoors just wants him to pickup her drycleaning as she is a busy career woman...jack spends most of the day being annoyed by his bouncy american writing partner @ a cafe run by a tall slightly deranged sweet man ---honestly spleen has to vent because everyone is insufferably british......no -one will be straight to you...shopkeepers,police...it's just 1 world of pain+embarrasement for jack who likes to drink wine with the indoors after a long day slaggin' off everyone,avoiding hardwork+trying to remain young + virile while riding a pistachio-green scooter...this is brilliant TV---no obvious gags,episodes building beautifully over one of rick's conceits or faux pas_________

Yes I like it but to be honest I prefer Curb Your Enthusiasm which is very similar.

rick spleen's major plot points...what produces 30 minutes of TV-bliss....

1.rides a girly pistachio green scooter

2.gave a friend a coffee who later died...accutley allergic to caffeine

3.promised too much money for charity skipping event

4.resents giving daughter money for books


must get DVD collection pirated by friendly vietnamese DVD shoppe across road. life is too short for crap comedy_______________________

Yes, it is very good. If you like this look out for Outnumbered with Hugh Dennis and Ideal with Johnny Vegas. Both different but both very funny.

yeah, well after another wearying day on phone/facing customers/work colleagues and then buying thai takeaway and then standing on sideline in cold for son's soccer training...now i can finally relax with a bowl of "THE workingman's delight"---choc chip ice cream with added nuts+raisins and laugh @ poor old rick spleen as another 1/2 hour in his life GOES TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET________________________________________ _________
