3rd time that the recorder and I have tried to team up on a recording. It's always something.
This time I dropped my recorder during Yours is No Disgrace, popping the card out and causing other issues.
The gain setting was changed, which clipped the hell out of my stuff. So here is his recording.

We had 5th row tickets, but got caught outside when the lights dropped and decided not to try and get to our seats.
The venue wasn't even close to being sold out, so we took some seats near the board instead.

Even though I didn't record this, it is dedicated to the folks that (hopefully) wound up in our seats, and to Andy the Tech Support guy who made it possible for us to make it in the first place.

The guy that recorded it faded it in and out at the beginning and end respectively.

I just want to say thank you for recording the show you did. It is the best sound quality recording of this tour I've heard so far!

I've wanted to get this recording out to the trading community for ages as I beleive this is the only existing tape of this show - but I didn't have a decent tape deck to do the transfer until recently.

It's from my own master tapes and has never been perviously circulated.
As you would expect it's not perfect but the sound is not too bad given the age of the tape and the shitty equipment that was available to my 15 yr old self! Quite a few tape cuts as I used C60s for some reason rather that C90s.
Having said that, the show is very listenable and I've revisited it many times over the years.

This was my second ever concert and my first at Green's Playhouse - soon to be re-launched as the legendary Glasgow Apollo.

I also recorded a couple of tracks by the opening act on the tour Johnathan Swift and these are incuded here - It's amazing to hear how well he went down with the Glasgow audience who are not noted for their tolerance of support acts. Did some research and discovered that he passed away a couple of years ago.
You can read an obituary here if you're interested.

    Notes:

This was my 36th Yes show and my first time seeing Jon Davison as their vocalist. This show was a vast improvement over the band's 2011 Los Angeles gig thanks to a better performance and my being seated around a more respectful group of people. Granted, there were some idiots at this show, but fortunately they weren't near me. For example, one rude screamer during Howe's acoustic solo bit seemed to put Howe in a sour mood, which was then aggravated by a technical problem on stage (I think there was an issue with Squire's cab). Otherwise, this was a really good show and everyone seemed to play exceptionally well--especially Howe (his playing during "YIND" is just phenomenal). And I really loved hearing the Fly From Here suite in its entirety and witnessing Downes play a stellar "Awaken."

I was located on an aisle and was also right behind the venue's horizontal aisle that separates the Orchestra from the Loge, so there is some phasing caused by people walking in front of me. It's not as bad as it was during the opening set by Procol Harum, but it is very noticeable in "YIND" and the Fly From Here suite. And sometimes those people going by would be talking or they would loudly walk on the steps to my right. As for other noises, the loudest applause came from the man to my left, but he barely clapped (after the show, I overheard him and his friend talking about only recognizing four songs). This same man's habitual cough was actually more intrusive but that can only be heard in the quieter parts of the show. And there was someone with restless leg syndrome in the section to my right whose sneaker kept rubbing on the ground and making a squeak noise. It was really annoying at the show, but I only heard it in the recording during Howe's solo songs. And the re's some singular clapping by a person way behind my right that can be heard in "ISAGP," "America," "Leaves Of Green," "Bumpy Ride" and "Awaken." There's also the sound of a plastic cup being kicked during Howe's solo songs and in "Roundabout." And that water-like sound at the end of "Awaken" is from a rather large amount of confetti being blown into the crowd. And lastly, someone had a fixation on Howe's guitar tech and kept shouting his name everytime he came out on stage to help Howe switch guitars.

I amplified this, but did nothing else to the recording. And if burning to cd, the suggested split is between the Fly From Here suite and "WS."

Please support the band by buying their official releases and merch and seeing them live. And be sure to pick up their most recent studio album, Fly From Here.

    Notes:

After a 15-20 minute break following the opening set by Jethro Tull tribute band Minstrels in the Gallery, the sound of Stravinski's Firebird Suite finale started drifting out of the PA system, and Going For the One walked out onto the dark stage. The guitarist and keyboardist of both bands are the same, and the bassist from the Tull band became the vocalist and front man for the Yes tribute - the only guys who hadn't been on stage before were the drummer and the bassist. Eventually the stage lights came up and they launched into about an hour and a half of classic Yes songs from The Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge, including rarely played songs like Five Percent For Nothing and South Side of the Sky.

This recording came out really well - I probably could have torrented it "as is", but I spent a little time tweaking the EQ to try to remove some of the boomy sound from the low end and some of the harshness from the very high frequencies. But I really didn't have to do all that much to it.

I included several photos with the torrent, but like the photos in the Minstrels torrent, these came out fairly blurry because of the low light levels in the Arts Center and because I mostly avoided using the camera's flash so as not to disturb the people sitting in front of me. It actually lead to interesting effects in some of the pictures, like the singer's hands arcing around his head or the one where he looks kind of ghostly as he sits and sings to a candle.

    About ProgDay:

ProgDay is an outdoor festival of progressive rock that has been held annually since 1995. In 1996 it was expanded from one day to two and has been featuring anywhere from eight to eleven progressive rock bands each year since, with a few more prog bands usually hosting their own Friday and/or Saturday night events at nearby venues. It's definitely worth the trip if you're a prog fan and don't mind a little sun and a little driving around.

The main event takes place at beautiful Storybook Farm, unless rain forces it indoors (which has fortunately only happened a couple times in the festival's history). It's a relaxed atmosphere, where you can listen and watch from anywhere you want - if you really like a particular band or want to get a better look at a piece of equipment, you can go sit right in front of the stage or stand along the side of the stage. Some people listen to the bands while shopping for CDs and merchandise in the vendor tent or getting food in the pavilion or playing games in the field behind the audience.

The people are friendly, and the band members often hang out all weekend taking in the show, selling merchandise and chatting with fans when they're not on stage. If you're a prog rock fan and can possibly attend, make every effort to be there next year. The festival often barely breaks even, so every ticket sold really helps.

Comments: Lineage: cassette (1st gen?) > Onkyo TA-RW313 > Wavelab 4.0 > CDWAV > FLAC. Paul G found his old cassettes of this show while packing for a move. He sent the tapes to me, very old "Cassion AX1" tapes. I transfered them to the PC via my old Onkyo TA-RW313 cassette deck. I then did some sound adjustments using Wavelab (volume corrections, light dehissing and a slight high end lift). There is some tape damage here and there, but overall I'm very surprised at how nice this one sounds, especially considering the quality of the cassette tapes.
Many thanks to the original taper and trader Remy.

Between those two shows of the 90125 tour can anyone tell me which one has the best sound quality?

This is the boot "Every Little Thing", which gives an incorrect date (04/04/70). Correct date and venue should be April 3rd 1970, Sporthalle, Kφln (Cologne).

If you only knew how much I'm still kicking myself for turning down the Yes torrents that I did in the beginning, you'd download both :-)

On my setup at least, I think 1984-08-23 Toronto is more pleasant to my ear, for sounding slightly less boomy and lacking a certain slight distortion. Your mileage may vary, of course.

one day he mentioned somebody who taped many shows in the arly 1970s. as i expressed SERIOUS interest, he somehow managed
to borrow a bag full of small uher reels which he gave to me saying that they must be returned within 24 hours. it took me a long
