1974-1980: Which song from this erawould you like to see Yes perform next tour

I'm going to make a few threads on this subject, covering the periods '69 - '73 (6 studioalbums), '74 - '80 (4 studio albums), '83 - '94 (5 studioalbums, incl. ABWH), '95 - 2001 (4 studioalbums).

Which song of the period '74 - '80, would you most want to see and here performed next tour? And to make it difficult you can only pick one!

I'm just allowing myself to get into Tormato. I could tell you why, but I won't. I just say ((nnnooo)) to Drama. Tales, GFTO, it's getting old, been there, done that, but my favorite thing to do IS TO repeat.

It's Future Times this time.

Mr. Holland, can I vote again next week, please? I change everyday, and one hardly seems adequate for me, but this is your game, sooo... I'll just complain instead.

That's a difficult choice given that you are only allowing us to vote once.
I could have voted for anything thing from Relayer or GFTO and 3 or 4 from Tormato.
But I voted for Gates of Delirium in the end.

Naturally Gates got my vote. But if Mr. wakeman won't {or can't} play it, Future Times gets my vote.

To be Over

One of those classics they did not play for a while. I would love to hear the complete version.

For me, this was the easiest of all the "era choices threads". There are two songs way up on the list, miles before any others, and those are Parallels and OTSWOF. The last one I favor just a tiny inch, so OTSWOF gets my vote.

Madrigal. Why Not?

I went with Madrigal, just for the heck of it. It would fill the quiet Jon acoustic solo type spot well. It would be nice to hear.
But so would Turn Of The Century, To Be Over, On The Silent Wings of Freedom.
Gates was trully awesome on the Symphonic tour, but too many epics will cut down on a lot of other choices, so I am going with the shorter pieces from this era. And again the assumption is that they won't drop Awaken from its slot.

Well, any of them would be great!

But I had to think - I've heard most all of these songs performed live already with their original lineups.

So, which one(s) would I be least likely to hear with the current lineup - obviously Relayer and Drama stuff.

I'm not holding my breath that Rick is going to play Relayer stuff, and I have heard it played a lot already - 9 times with Moraz, and Gates at the Masterworks tour.

So I went with Tempus Fugit - I'd love to hear Jon sing it! And it's such a high energy song anyway!

Cool Tough choice

I'd REALLY love to hear "To Be Over", but I figured I'd be more realistic. Voted for "Turn of the Century." Would love to hear that again.

TORMATO!!!

Future times/Rejoice. I've never heard anything from my favourite album (Tormato) live, and this would be the place to start.

Oh yes, they played Don't Kill The Whale this summer. I don't get that song. If you don't kill it, how are you going to eat it?

Gotta go for something off the most neglected album of all time "Drama" .. and the song has to be .... "Does it Really Happen?"

Future Times/Rejoice! That's the one I'd intentionally pee my pants for. Okay, maybe not that, but it was a funny way to express how psyched I'd be.

Re: 1974-1980: Which song from this erawould you like to see Yes perform next tour

Arno, what were you doing up at the time of your post--sleepless, I wonder?

OK, I finally voted--Parallels. Sentimental value here. It's the very first Yes song I ever heard live as it was the opener from the GFTO tour. I think we may have some hope on this one too as in the Steve Howe interview on the link from another thread, Steve indicated that Jon is suggesting they play some songs from GFTO on the next tour--oh, please, please, that would be wonderful!
