Remastered Edition??

Does anyone out there know if a completely remastered edition of "90125" is available?

All of the copies I seem to come across are the original pressing. I know that there is a version with 2 additional tracks included (the remake of "Owner" and a Rick Wakeman song), but is this edition remastered?

Recently, I discovered a copy of "90125" with the words "Original Masters" written on the spine. What is the deal here?

This is a great album, to be sure. But the original CD transfer is definitely lacking in quality now that the technology has improved considerably over the years.

The tracks from this disc that are included on the "In A Word" boxset are so much more crisp sounding. I'd love to have this sound for the entire "90125" experience.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It's very likely that Rhino/Elektra will be issuing a much improved 90125 this year.

With the bonus tracks included in the re-release of the first four albums, I wonder if the re-release of 90125 will give us the full 20-minute "Cinema" (of which the officially released bit is just the ending.)

Has anyone heard it in its entirety? Do boots exist???

I've always wondered if boots of Yes' "Time" exist too. I've never seen or heard one ever. I hope that the remastered 90125 has that great accapella "Leave It." I have this nightmare that since Trevor is already releasing the Cinema marterial on his own (which I thought for sure he'd hand over to Rhino) and the fact that there probably isn't recording of "Time" the bonus cuts will be those horrible remix versions of "Owner" and "Leave It."

I could live without the dance mixes, thanks!

I do know that the accapella LEAVE IT was issued on a various artists CD of accapella music. Don't know the title though.

There is also "Make it Easy" Which is of course on Yesyears...are there any other demos of songs with Chris or Trevor singing? I would love the a-capella "Leave It" on CD though...

Yeah there are a few other Cinema titles that didn't make the cut for 90125. I can't remeber all of them, but "Open The Door" was one.

Maybe by some amazing miracle the full version of CINEMA a/k/a TIME will be released on the Rhino/Elektra 90125 CD. I believe that every recording artist has more unreleased material than they usually admit to.

I think when the 90125 Rhino remaster comes out, 9012Live should be included as a bonus disc...but that's just me.

I think 9012 Live should be totally remastered and boosted to a full 2CD set of that tour

Re: Remastered Edition??

Oh, don't start that "it's not YES, per se" stuff. The band accepts it as YES material. Shouldn't that be good enough?

I can't wait for the redefined, enhanced 90125. My 12" a cappella "Leave It" is sounding pretty poor these days, and has for years.

you're right. i posted that a long time ago. :p i suppose three members of Yes plus a great guitarist with a great sense of melody is Yes: after all, wasn't Steve a great guitarist with a great sense of melody?!

plus the first two albums didn't feature steve at all. but they're still considered Yes. why shouldn't 90125 be considered Yes? because it's not progressive? NEWS FLASH. neither were the first two albums. i've only came to realize this after listening to 90125 and big generator and realizing they're great albums. Plus isn't the meaning of progressive rock to er progress?! so yeah Yes did that. :)

I have to disagree. The jazzier elements of the first two albums seem very Prog to me. Plus, and more importantly here, I think 90125 is progressive in many areas. The obvious evidence is found in “Changes”. The beginning and ending “clockwork” sections – written by Alan, if I’m not mistaken – are quite Prog in meter. Even "Owner of a Lonely Heart" has it's Prog moments; sure, not enough to please Prog Purists (such as myself), but I know it's much more adventurous than its New W.ave cousins. Find an 80's New W.ave compilation that includes "Owner" and listen to all of the other tracks. By comparison, "Owner of a Lonely Heart" is way progressive.

Dragonfly

What's sad is that it appears BIG GENERATOR won't also be remastered. It needs it!

i've always thought that the first two yes albums were more psychadelic. yes there are some elements of their classic prog sound but it's restrained for the most part. and 90125 does have progressive elements yeah because for Yes it would be impossible for them not to but not as much. 90125 is pretty adventurours a lot of the time i agree. but not in a classic prog way. which doesn't matter to me.

Re: Remastered Edition??

This is what we are getting .. "Time" is not included.

YesWorld details the following bonus tracks: for 90125:

"Leave It" (single remix) (3:52)—remixed by Steve Lipson.
"Make It Easy" (6:08)—as on YesYears.
"It Can Happen" (Cinema version) (6:01)—as on YesYears.
"It's Over" (5:39)—this and the previous two tracks were recorded by Squire, White, Kaye and Rabin at Sunpark Studios (London), engineered by Nigel Luby/Trevor Rabin, produced by the band. YesWorld gives these as dating from Jan 1981, but I think that's a missprint for 1982.
"Owner of a Lonely Heart" (extended remix) (7:03)—previously unissued.
"Leave It" ('a capella' version) (3:19)—mixed by Steve Lipson.

Re: Remastered Edition??

It must be a misprint for 1982 because I remember reading that Chris and Alan were tied up with the XYZ project for most of 1981.

It would be cool to hear the full version, but it sounds like NOBODY knows where the full-length version is. Rabin said in the NFTE interview last year HE doesn't even know where the full length version is; seems kind of odd the version of the record won a Grammy and the full version fell off the face of the earth....

I read a Rabin interview where he stated that Tony Kaye and Alan White both have copies of the full length "Time" track. I sure would like one!!
