WHat is your fav. seat in the house based on what ever reason.

I voted for, Doesn't Matter.

But that's only because I can choose only one. The trutch is, I like all except, in the back or on the grass. If it said on grass :damack: then that would be different.

I've just about sat in all areas for my Yesshows, and it's great just to be there.

I prefer in the middle as close to the stage as possible. To me it gives a good view and a balanced sound. It paid off during the surround sound tour for Yes.

Anyway, the best gift my wife ever gave me when we were dating was a pair of binoculars to take to concerts. Yes always looks great with 'em.

At the moment its on the sofa, as the only time I get to see them is on the videos. But when they do get out here I want the seat next to Mrs Anderson then I know I'll be in the front row centre. What more would you want???

My preferred spot is actually about half way back so that I can see everybody, get a good sound mi, and enjoy the light show. In a perfect word, I then see them a second time that tour and sit in the first couple rows.

In reality, I'll take whatever I can get from Ticketb**tard.

I remember for the first "In The Round Tour" I went to the ticket office at the ticket outlet "Ticketmaster" over in Wilmington Delaware (the only place besides the Spectrum you could get tickets at that time) the day of the show. They had only single tickets remaining so I asked the clerk where the seats were located. He picked up the first ticket in the stack, looked at the seating chart and smiled and said..."Your in the front row".WOW, what a show.Could be the best sounding Yes show I have ever been to. Although I have been saying that since the "Relayer " tour.Every Yes show sounded great to me. I have been to over 450 concerts in my lifetime and have seen some of the best. Pink Floyds "Animals" and "The Wall" tours, 2 Led Zepplin tours, 4 Rush tours, 4 Eric Clapton tours, 3 Emerson,Lake and Palmer tours, 5 Genesis tours....you name em....I`ve probably seen em. One thing that attending all these shows has proven to me is this.....the best seat for sound quality is right by the mixing board. The best SOUNDING show I have ever been to.....not stage setting, not light show, not choreography, I`m talking pure clean SOUND had to be Supertramp`s "Breakfast In America" tour. Simply perfect. Sat right next to the sound board. When I buy concert tickets (thru a ticket broker) he always has a pair right by the mixing board for me. They cost a little extra, but it is well worth it to me.

I like as close as possible in the center.

like genieve, when we went to oakdale this year we had 4th row center, it was unbelieveable!!!!!!
could see everyone, and see them that close up was fantastic.

i don't know about you guys, but i find sitting at a yesshow the most impossible thing to do! i have to be standing or jumping or dancing, none of that sitting down stuff for me, i must participate!

I usually like to sit on a chair, but if there isn't one to be found I'm perfectly content to stand. But seriously I would like to be about 7th row center but I haven't really gotten that close. The best seats I had were the Masterworks tour.I had seats about 15 rows back and on Squire's side of the stage.Right side from our viewpoint. But I have been in nose bleed seats also more times than not and still enjoyed the show.

Are you kidding me, this one is so easy....right in front of Chris!

I had 8th row on Chris' side for the Masterworks tour and it was amazing...still not close enough for my tastes, but close enough.

I was lucky enough to have 2nd row when they played in the round at Madison Square Garden in '78 and 4th row in '79 so I'm not complaining at all. Had a great view of everyone.

My favorite place to sit at a YES concert is in a large cardboard box, surrounded by bells, whistles, maraccas, megaphones, and Lost In Space robot toys. The box should be taped shut, with just a few small air holes in the sides. I must have a change of clothes in there as well.

I like to sit close enough to be able to see the colors of their eyes. That is pretty darn close.

When I went to concerts I used to like to get as close to Trevor Rabin as possible. Close enough that his sweat would drip right down on me. :lmao:

I voted "in the middle" sound board area...it's great to be able to take in the whole experience visually and aurally. But we've sat all over the place at Yes shows.

Really, anywhere in the first 20 rows is fine by me. For Anaheim we were on Howe's side first row above the floor--I guess it would be the equivalent of 10 rows back. Great view of everything and great sound too.

I would rather wait it out for better seats than take "ok" seats at first sale. For me it does make a difference where you sit/stand!

Sitting where you can see Matt & Tasia bopping along to the music is fun. ;)

Sitting near Chris and feeling the bass is fun.
Sitting close enough to see Steve's expressions is great.
Sitting where you can get a good look at Alan or Rick's flying fingers is very interesting.

Where I really like to sit is with my friends. It make wonderful concerts sublime.

Sitting where you can see Kathy, Patrick, Earl and Omar either dancing around, or with their mouths agape in amazement is a pretty cool sight!

ROTFLMAO!!!! My shades! I love it!!!! You are a scream, honey!

I like watching YesFriends at Yesshows, too. I enjoy the different expressions that cross their faces at any given moment. I especially love watching people during Wurm...although I'm usually too busy doing the WurmJam to check 'em out!

Well, I usually split it up between REALLY close seats ;) and seats a bit further back center. Then of course some shows left, some right, and some center. That way I get a bit of all the worlds..... Of course I go to a bunch of shows on each tour. If I had only 1 show I could go too on a tour. I'd pick 10-15 rows back dead center, reasobnably close for sight, and usually a decent quality sound!

Somewhere on an aisle (center-ish) where nobody can stand in front of me such as the mezzanine. That would work for these tired old bones.

'Standing room only' concerts are definitely out. I'll not make that mistake again.

Center aisle seat about 10 rows back. Close enough to see their faces ....and far enough to see the whole band without turning your head.

I had that exact seat for Yes Symphonic at my favorite venue.

I've heard it said that ten rows back in the center is the sweet spot for most concerts - and I can remember at least one concert I went to that came close to that: Genesis, Trick Of The Tail tour - seven rows back dead center. Fantastic show!

I didn't choose because my choice isn't listed.

I like to sit 10-15 rows back right in the center to get the full affect of the lights, see the whole stage and hear the best sound. I used to go out of my way to get front row seats at Yes shows and I'll admit front row is fun, but all n all being back a little bit is the best. When I shoot a concert, I prefer to be closer for the sake of photos.

I chose left side, hoping that you mean from the perspective of a spectator. I like to be on the guitarist side, (for Yes, this has traditionally been the left), in the first row of the first tier above the floor level, (I can't stand for 3 hours anymore), This is the best view, no one can stand up in front of you and block your view, even if you sit for the whole show, and I'm closest to the guitarist. (I'm a guitar freak). Both Steve and Trevor set up on that side. Unsure about Pete. I never saw them then. In the round, the first tier above the floor still stays the same, but of course the side doesn't matter at all.

Sit?

My favorite seat in the house is standing directly in front of Steve Howe, within talking range, like I got to do in Hawaii, and the LA House Of Blues show during The Ladder tour.

Other than that, I put down 'Front Row Center'. The closest seats I've ever had were second-row center at Universal, back in '97.

Last Yesshow, at Universal, I had central seats in the orchestra pit! Now that was something...

Not as good as Sheila and Kathy's seats, when they got to go onstage, just behind the wings, at the same show...

...I'll settle for any seat anywhere, as long as there's always going to be 'the next' Yesshow!

THe HOB Ladder shows were amazing. I saw 2 of the 3 consecutive performances. Both near the stage, first in front of Chris and the next day in front of Steve.

At Universal LA, I slithered into the front row pit seconds before the show to see the instruments close-up. The lights suddenly dimmed, the crowd screamed and a guy reached out to me and said he had an extra seat next to him. FRONT ROW just 5 seats from center and 4 seats right of Jane. Catching occasional glances from Jon and Chris made my night. BTW...the guy was part of the crew and later gave me a backstage pass where I met Jon, Rick and Alan. WHAT A NIGHT!!!

I think I like having tickets for as close as possible. Then I can go anywhere I want during the show to experience different spots yet always have a great seat to return.

I said center, because I enjoy watching each of our boys equally! I love them all...I just want to be close. I've had front row, directly in front of Chris, at the Tower Theatre in Philly. That was incredible. Best seat I ever had. Not that I haven't been up front before...I manage to find my way there at every show I attend, if only for a moment. I prefer to stand and dance, and a front row seat is perfect for that. It gives you a reason to be there, without any hassle from the man.

I LOVE being by the soundboard, because that's often the "Sweet spot" not only sonically but visually.....particularly at a place like Universal Amphitheatre.

But being up front has a rush to it too...you feel like you're a participant in the live experience rather than just an observer.

Depends on the show for me.....although for the last few Yes tours we'd had amazing fortunes in terms of seat selection!!

The Sweet Spot indeed. I usually try to sit just below it and to the right. Universal Amphitheatre is such a great place to see Yes.

I was shocked when they played in Anaheim. They only used a 1/4 of the place too. Hope they go back to Universal or more nights at a smaller venue.

Front row center.

The last Yes show I went to in 2004 I sat in the second row in an aisle seat. That didn't last long, as there was enough room between the first row and the stage for some people to sit in the grass, and we did. It was amazing watching them play Awaken sitting that close.

I've got tickets all over for this summer's shows: 6th row on Chris' side in Atlanta; by the soundboard in Boston (two seats away from Tediclasta); and about 20 rows back in Seattle and Chicago. I'll buy lawn seats at Mountain View so I can sit with the Liquor Locusts, and I haven't decided about the last show at Universal.
