Stinging My Heart

I was just playing "Saving My Heart" from UNION (for the first time in, like, forever), and realized what a great Police song it could have been. It's even got that psudo-reggae beat they utilized so often.

The next time you play it, try to imagine it performed by The Police. They'd probably play it a bit faster, and the lyrics might change a bit, but The Police could really do it justice.

It's the only song I skip past when I listen to the Union cd. I'm not sure anyone could do any justice to it.

P.S. Instead of The Police doing "Saving My Heart", how about other psudo-reggae acts like UB40? Do you think they could do good with it?

Saving My Heart is one of the few songs that I don't like the original too much. But live, it is AWESOME!! I don't know why. Trevor has been quoted as saying he doesn't like the finished version. He could have done more with it. I agree.

This is actually my second fav on Union, after Lift Me Up. I'm not sure why some, even Trevor, don't like it. TR says it sounds too 'demo-y', but I think it's a nice little island amongst Union.

A girl i went out with for a while loved it. She didn't really get into Yes much at all . . but when she heard "Saving My Heart" she just flipped and kept wanting me to play it all the time.

Weird Huh?

I agree about the live version. If you get the Union Tour DVD and see how they do it, its great . . a lot of fun.

This isnt one of my favourite songs from the Union album but its a fun song nonetheless but nothing more for me.
