I apologize if my comments about YesWest were offensive to some. Yes I called people who prefered YesWest over Yes "wierdos", but please do not take me too seriously here. I honestly did not mean any malcontent or hatrid. I was just light-heartedly poking fun. Of course if you like the Trevor Rabin era of Yes, I have no intentions of trying to convince you otherwise or tell you that you shouldn't like it. I respect everyone's opinion here, and I did not think that my post would be taken so controversially. I even like some YesWest stuff. It Could Happen, Hearts, Love Will Find A Way, Shoot High Aim Low, Final Eyes, Leave It, and Changes all together would make a very good album I think. I don't mean to piss any YesWest fans off. Thank You.

I'm sure those "weirdos" are going to appreciate your apology :D
Hey, that's an idea for a thread: For all us "troopers," if we were to make 1 cd of our favorite YesWest songs, what would it include?
Mine would consist of "I'm Running," "Cinema/Leave It," "Changes," "Shoot High, Aim Low," "Miracle of Life," and "Endless Dream." I haven't been able to settle on the order yet, although "Cinema/Leave It" has to be first!
I really love all these songs.
Maybe I'll start a thread on this -- but first I'll wait to see if anybody contributes here.

ah, throw "Hold On" in there too! And I'd just put them in chronological order.
Frankly, MisterBaron, I think you've put together one really incredible album above --- those particular tunes listed in a single set are pretty impressive! I'm especially pleased that you included "Final Eyes" and "Hearts" ... I've always had a real soft spot for both those songs!

Me too 'Q' !
"Final Eyes" for some reason, reminds me of 'The Beatles' and "Hearts" is a true classic. Even Jon's version on "Change We Must" stands out among the other fine tunes.

Oh yea, Final Eyes for me too!

I think it would have to be a very weird person who was even remotely insulted by your post!
Actually meaning that they would technically be a weirdo, meaning that you had a point. Hmm...

... and would like to hear the Hearts-Version from the Ladder-Tour. With Steve. I heard, it was really good one. When they came to europe, they dropped it after some shows. So, no Hearts in Cologne.

If you travel West long enough you eventually end up in the East so chill everyone. Life is good!

Kevin, I'm a 'born again' Yes fan. I was soooo into the band from the start right through to Drama. I was very surprised that despite the loss of someone many think is the heart and soul of Yes (Mr.Anderson) the music was still very creative on that album...and it kick #%&@ as well!
In those days information regarding Yes activity was hard to find. When I saw 90125 in the stores I was surprised to find that Steve had been replaced by Trevor. I bought the album, played it once or twice and soon moved it to the back of the collection. It just didn't grab me.
A lot of water's passed under the bridge since. With the release of The Ladder (a minor masterpiece IMO) Yes was again on high rotation on my player. I decided to go back to 90125, Big Gen and Talk all of which I'd bought on CD but never listened to properly and I was thrilled with much of the music that Yes had been producing through that period.
I wonder how many other Yes fans who have little regard for the Rabin Years haven't given those albums a fair chance. I freely admit that I had been listening with a closed mind.
I had a similar experience with Relayer, of all albums. I had no trouble absorbing Fragile, the Yes Album, or any of the YesWest albums --- but Relayer just didn't click with me.
But, as said above, it's a matter of giving something truly off the path a fair chance. And when I did, I was well rewarded. That's often the case: when you set out to find something of worth, with diligence and an open mind, you won't be disappointed.

I say Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!! See my friends, Steve Howe is my guitar guru. Every note I play has in its dedication only two names... George Harrison and Steve Howe. They are the only two guitarist I have ever wanted to be (for lack of a better word) "like". With that said we must take into account the story of YES. The story of YES is as follows:
Chapter One.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Peter Banks, Tony Kaye, Bill Bruford.
Chapter Two.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Tony Kaye, Bill Bruford.
Chapter Three.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford.
Chapter Four.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Alan White.
Chapter Five.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Patrick Moraz, Alan White.
Chapter Six.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Alan White.
Chapter Seven.
Trevor Horn, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Alan White.
Chapter Eight.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Trevor Rabin, Tony Kaye, Alan White.
Chapter Nine.
Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford.
Chapter Ten.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Trevor Rabin, Tony Kaye, Alan White, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford.
Chapter Eleven.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Trevor Rabin, Tony Kaye, Alan White.
Chapter Twelve.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Alan White.
Chapter Thirteen.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Billy Sherwood, Alan White.
Chapter Fourteen.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White.
Chapter Fifteen.
Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Billy Sherwood, Alan White.
The End.... So far!
Does anybody see my point? All of these chapters are part of the YES story. With out one chapter the rest are meaningless. The story is the story so enjoy the whole book. Not just a chapter here and there.
Chill people... Life is good!

OK, now I've done it. I've started a thread for Troopers to post their "Best of YesWest" CD tracklists!
Great idea, Erdy1 ...
I'm going to do the same on the other side of the tracks!
